Republican state legislators are advancing a rush of new bills aimed at limiting voting access, and especially access to voting by mail, in the wake of President Biden’s victory last year in the highest-turnout election in American highest-turnout election in American history. The proposals come after months of pressure from former President Trump, who with the help of Republican allies spread false claims and conspiracy theories related to the election, including that widespread voter fraud cost him a victory.

In many states, Republicans have used those claims to cite unspecified concerns about the integrity of their own elections, despite elections officials who show proof that counts were fair and accurate.

Mail in votes were NOT fraudulent. No evidence has been demonstrated that proves that, despite numerous attempts to find such evidence. That claim is a big, fat lie. A lie that has been demonstrated to be lie again and again. Trump and crew files over 60 lawsuits challenging the election of Biden, and had no evidence for that claim whatsoever. The GOP and Trump has been trying for years now to find evidence for such claims and has utterly failed. All the while supporting voter suppression, discouragement and gerrymandering to steal elections themselves from the Democrats.

Free, fair elections are the lifeblood of our democracy. Charges of unfairness are serious. But calling an election unfair does not make it so. Charges require specific allegations and then proof. We have neither here.

The Trump Presidential Campaign asserts that Pennsylvania’s 2020 election was unfair. But as lawyer Rudolph Giuliani stressed, the Campaign “doesn’t plead fraud. . . . [T]his is not a fraud case.” Mot. to Dismiss Hr’g Tr. 118:19–20, 137:18. Instead, it objects that Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State and some counties restricted poll watchers and let voters fix technical defects in their mail-in ballots. It offers nothing more.

This case is not about whether those claims are true. Rather, the Campaign appeals on a very narrow ground: whether the District Court abused its discretion in not letting the Campaign amend its complaint a second time. It did not.

Most of the claims in the Second Amended Complaint boil down to issues of state law. But Pennsylvania law is willing to overlook many technical defects. It favors counting votes as long as there is no fraud. Indeed, the Campaign has already litigated and lost many of these issues in state courts.

The Campaign tries to repackage these state-law claims as unconstitutional discrimination. Yet its allegations are vague and conclusory. It never alleges that anyone treated the Trump campaign or Trump votes worse than it treated the Biden campaign or Biden votes. And federal law does not require poll watchers or specify how they may observe. It also says nothing about curing technical state-law errors in ballots. What this is all about.

"What are these damned black and brown people doing in our lily white voting booths VOTING FOR DEMOCRATS!? We'll take care of THAT!". This is simply a recrudesce of Jim Crow and segregation. And many Americans do in fact understand that fact. That is why Black Americans have all but fled voting for the GOP. In those states where voting by mail is standard operation procedure, and the GOP has not been able to demonstrate in any of these states this has lead to great amounts of fraud. And not for lack of attempts to do so, such as Trump's failed commission founded to do just that.

It's not dumb. Rvonse isn't dumb. But I don't know what it is. I've been reading his posts for years on this forum. But it's super hard to understand why people believe BS that lacks evidence (well that's the definition of BS right?). I generally don't always requests links and evidence on this forum. This place is for opinions. But for god's sakes, this allegation of fraud has been going on for months and months.

Keep in mind that many if not most of the claims put forward aren’t actually related to mail in voting. Most of the claims I’ve seen could be accomplished, if they had actually happened, even without mail in voting.

Since late spring of 2020. Trump set up his lie as a six month strategy and carried it out. That's how much he loves his country. He knew his poll numbers sucked, knew he faced a decisive defeat if they didn't get better, knew that the numbers weren't budging. So here's a guy telling you in May, I think it was, that an election 5 months later would be stolen and fraudulent IF he lost. Pure ass-smoke. Anyone who believes this massive fraud narrative has the same mentality as the vile mob from three weeks ago. They live in a hall of mirrors and can't tell their ass from Trump's face. William Fucking Barr tells them there was no fraud, and they still believe this. (This being Trumpworld, Barr says this knowing that it makes Trump a repulsive liar and anti-patriot, but he still leaves office kissing Trump's ass.) This is a chapter of our history that we will live through again if we can't learn from it.

I did not see that side of it but certainly makes sense to me too.

And, remember that Amazon is anti-union. It is quite reasonable to conclude that Mr. Bezos's concern over mail voting is outcome from those votes than fraud.
