The parents are victims. Their child was arrested and sent to court unnecessarily which got national media attention and people slandering them.
What are you now babbling about? There is no evidence that the parents engaged in vandalism or knew what had happened or knowingly skipped a court meeting. Perhaps you should practice what you have preaching and castigating others for.I'm curious, if one family has a child that is do-gooder and another that is trouble... do you blame just one parent?
Please explain what this word salad means.
Please explain how someone should blame a parent for their children's behavior, without discussing what the parents actually did or said. That's happening a lot in this thread. Posters are blaming the victims of vandalism, without knowing what the parents did.

If you do know that the parents tried to prevent that from happening, please share your information. Because I'm not seeing any such information.

My simple point, which for some reason eludes you, is that we have no idea about any of that. Yet that does not stop you from blaming the parents while simultaneously castigating others for sharing their uninformed opinions. What are you now babbling about? What I'm babbling about is the lack of evidence that the parents even know that their kid was arrested and went to court.
Do you know that the parents showed even that tiny shred of interest in their child? Knowing that their child was arrested and going to court?
It is pretty obvious you are not even seeing the posts to which you respond. If we don't know what the parents received or knew, then, according to you, we shouldn't opine about what they should done. Yet, here you are, blaming the parents. If you do know that the parents tried to prevent that from happening, please share your information. Because I'm not seeing any such information.

What evidence do you have that the parents are even aware of this?
I'm not seeing any.
If somebody could show me evidence that the parents did anything at all, concerning their child, I'd have a more informed opinion.
But nobody has done so.
Tom
TomC, you have to forgo the 6 year old in court in order to make your subsequent assumptions. All of that hypothetical refuse of yours is subjected to the six year old picking flowers and ending up in court. Otherwise you'd be throwing allegations into thin air as you'd have no parents as the target for your argument without the child in question.
Please explain what assumptions I'm making, other than that the kid has parents.
My point is that nobody in this thread actually knows what really happened, including me. I'm pretty sure that the child is getting caught in the crossfire of some dysfunctional b.s. that isn't being reported.

There most likely will not be more information forthcoming. Juvenile court, other than outcomes, is generally kept private.
Neither of us know anything beyond what we've read.
This is an important point that I've tried to make, over and over.
Nobody on this thread knows what led to the ridiculous circumstance of a SIX year old in court. But something did.
But lots of people wallowing in outrage keep trying to explain their outrage, without any more information than I have.
Tom
It's not the parents' fault, the parents' are just indifferent*.What are you now babbling about? There is no evidence that the parents engaged in vandalism or knew what had happened or knowingly skipped a court meeting. Perhaps you should practice what you have preaching and castigating others for.

Yeah, there is no evidence to support that either. This came about because of complaints of the system, outside of the family. This one case was a high water mark regarding how the system is allegedly not working as it is supposed to.If you do know that the parents tried to prevent that from happening, please share your information. Exactly. Unless someone goes to the press we won't see how this turned out. I think the only reason we saw even this much is someone went to the press--and when that happens it's usually not a remotely accurate picture of the whole situation.
The most likely explanation is the parents knew they had blown off previous efforts to resolve this and are trying to try this in the media rather than the courtroom.
Neither of us know anything beyond what we've read.

And yet, you blame the parents even though you admit you don't know enough. Hmmm.

Gospel; had a clear response. I'll buy my kid a t-shirt that says "FUCK yo Flowers!". That wasn't a parental response much, when I was a kid. But it's altogether too common nowadays.
My partner and I moved put of downtown a few years back. One of the reasons was the increasing number of unsupervised kids, who's parents just wouldn't take responsibility for their children's behavior.
I never called the police, because I didn't want the kids tagging my house with FAGGOT. I have to consider such forms of retribution, it's happened before.
We took some advice from earlier in this thread. If you don't like the neighborhood, sell out and move. Kids are gonna be kids, and your property doesn't matter. Parents can't be expected to watch over their kids every second.
Just suck it up!

A "fuck yo flowers" T-shirt is less vulgar than a 6-year-old getting arrested and taken to court over a tulip. The victim should have gone after the parents.

I just did a quick search online for how much a single tulip costs. At telefloral.com, one can purchase a bouquet of 10 tulips for $38.24, which is the sale price. So a tulip is worth $3.85 rounding up to include that quarter of a cent.
We just bought about 20 bulbs for $20.A "fuck yo flowers" T-shirt is less vulgar than a 6-year-old getting arrested and taken to court over a tulip. The victim should have gone after the parents.

Nearing 200 posts and we have no more info about what happened and presuppositions made by others. All we know is that someone claimed something happened , A 6-YEAR-OLD WAS ARRESTED, TAKEN TO COURT and the case was immediately dismissed by a judge. How we get nearly 200 posts going back and forth about the parties we know NOTHING about is beyond me... and certainly an indication that we can't even agree on the lack of details.
