Covid-19 miscellany

Incredible as Covid-19 cases work on approaching our 2020 holiday peak, as more and more vaccinated people test positive... however, much of America continues to not care. Parking lots are full at stores and restaurants. A number of people even booed Trump for saying they should get vaccinated (a matter of way too little, way too late asshole).

A number of school districts have hit the brakes, but are in court to try to explain to a judge (or judges) why they went against state regs or laws that say they can't not ignore the pandemic. Mask wearing is increasing, but even blue states seem to dare not slow things down. The assholes have officially won.

Yep, vaccinated people are getting covid unfortunately. However, scientists are finding that the vaccinated are having far less symptoms. As an aside, I really struggle with people who want to be in public and not wear a mask. I just don't get the great sacrifice! And I'll say this without reservation: the definition of an asshole is one who is unvaccinated and who refuses to wear a mask in public. People who do this intentionally should be shunned. I really don't care what your religion says!
 
Pfizer granted full approval from FDA.

This applies to administration to 16 years old and older.

People who want to avoid the vaccine will need to adjust their excuses at this point, likely to a generic "I just don't trust big Pharma". Roughly 5,000 people died in the US in the last seven days from Covid-19 and states like Alabama and Mississippi are getting hammered. An image went viral from an alleged library Covid-19 site, which I had presumed was fake news, but apparently not.

Great news! While I think it's silly, I won't condemn a person who is afraid to get a vaccine (and of course many can't get it for medical reasons) as long as you don't intentionally spread your germs to others. Wear a mask, be aware that you are taking a risk, and don't put others at risk. I don't think that this is a difficult sacrifice to ask.
 
I'm curious, when the border opens to Canada and I get back into Ontario, but need a negative Covid-19 test first (despite being vaccianted), will the unvaccinated being paying for that test? Is this also a good time to note I can't go to Canada because of travel restrictions caused by the unvaccinated leading to a huge bloom of cases in the US? Or not being able to get my too young to be vaccinated daughter to a proper waterpark (that isn't restricted) because of the freedom seeking unvaccinated?

I can't wait to embark in all of this freedom that has been usurped by others from me.

What is the EXACT low end of number of people getting really sick that would be low enough for this to be considered , "meh, this is just life" and have people go on with their business and shrug it off?

Will these assholes on parade gonna make it endemic faster even if more people die? Not necessarily a bad trade off if looked at long term.

It would also be ironic as fuck if the vaccinated but non masking crowd lovers also were more likely to have delta NOW and then be able to squash the delta based future variants, but prudent people get killed by those coming variants because they have no bridging immunity just waning immunity.

Another layer is that the vaccine didn't stop them from getting it or spreading it but from getting hospital level ill. But also it helped in that now they have protection to the current strain.

Now if they had nasal vaccines to delta now, then this might be a moot point.

At any rate, looks like pfizer is working on delta specific intramuscular boosters. Anyone know how to find out which stage that is now and when it might be available?

The "exact number" would be whatever number is sufficiently low that treating COVIDiots doesn't displace those who need healthcare, and would have received treatment prior to the prevalence of the Trump virus.
IMHO, we're not there yet.

Yeah, I'd say somewhere between The Flu and Covid-19. The line in the sand? When hospitals are treating patients outside of hospitals because they ran out of room inside the hospital.
