California May Have a Random Celebrity Republican as Governor Soon

Why would Democrats want to validate this blatant misuse of this already very undemocratic recall process?
Why do you think it is undemocratic? Or misused?

And so wasteful, the next election is in about a year anyway. And we're fine with Newsom in the first place,
And you'll probably reelect his incompetent ass too just because he has a D next to his name.
we don't care that you don't like somebody he stood next to.
You don't care he is standing next to a racist, anti-American and anti-Semitic terrorism supporter?

BLM-L.A. leader and anti-Semitism

I guess in the modern Democratic party no leftists are beyond the pale, no matter how extremist or vile.

That was the Dem's strategy, to not run any known Dems. I questioned it at first, that it would backfire if the recall did pass, but it turned out to be the right call because it set it up as more of a choice between a Dem and a Republican, and it's hard for a Republican to win statewide at this time.

It was a strategically sound move, but the downside is that you are stuck with Governor Goodhair.

In case you need further evidence to believe the bullshit character of Republican complaints about fraud, Elder's website is already reporting that he has "detected fraud" in the "results" of the election that.... hasn't happened yet. He detected it with the instruments in his time machine, I guess?
Many Californians (including me) use mail-in voting. Ballots have started being collected already, so in principle irregularities could have arisen. Not that I believe that.

Edited to add:
Now, having actually looked at link it does appear as if they are addressing the results, which indeed do not exist yet. Further the application of Benford’s Law to elections has already been heavily addressed with regard to the 2020 presidential election, so I would be skeptical of its application here as meaningful and not manipulative.

Benford's Law is only applicable to numbers that should be randomly distributed over a wide range. Voting precinct sizes are decidedly non-random as they are engineered to be roughly the same size!

His campaign never addressed any of the problems California is experiencing, just banged on about Trump as did the dummies from out of state that flew in to support him.
You have yet to successfully explain a single Republican policy that woud have solved any of those problems. If the Republicans were presenting him with tangible and plausible alternative plans to his own, he'd probably be willing to compromise. The man is an empty suit, he likes to be liked. But you can't compromise "we don't have a plan, we just oppose whatever you say or do".

As for "Banging on about Trump", that's because Elder is a Trump crony whose principal promises were to push Trump's agendas in the state, to the point that his rallies were often a waving sea of Trump flags more so than Elder signs. Californians aren't stupid, we can see what's right in front of our eyes. Trump commited treason on a grand scale, we don't want one of his Medvedevs playing governor over the most influential state in the Union.

This. The Republicans have three answers to everything:

Tax cuts.

Power to law enforcement.

Power to religion.

Rarely are any of these actual solutions to much of anything.

The conservonazis complain about homelessness, then spend 269 million on their frivolous attempt to undermine democracy.
How is a constitutional democratic process "undermining democracy"? We may debate how recall should work, but it is not debatable that currently valid democratic procedures were followed.

They could have given 269,000 homeless people $1000.00 each to better effect. (If they actually gave a damn.)
What do you think these urban outdoorsmen would spend that dough on?

It's just a funny image. However, I do think most of the money given to homeless is indeed spent on booze, cigarettes and drugs.

Tax cuts.
Can be a valid answer when the tax burden is high.
Power to law enforcement.
As opposed to "defund/abolish police" and pretending thugs like Mario Woods, Jacob Blake or Michael Brown are "victims"?

Power to religion.
Dems like to pander to religion as well. Left-wing Christianity is a thing, and then there is also Islam, pandering to which is very much en vogue in the modern Democratic party.

FF then continued, saying that while Larry Elder wasn't a sore loser, this person was:
"And I can't believe that this many people actually voted to keep him in office. It's a shame. Honesty, it's a shame. You kind of get the government you deserve." -- Caitlyn Jenner. Her voice was very somatically male. She got about 1% of the vote, 13 out of 46.

Larry Elder Concedes In CA Recall Without Alleging Fraud - YouTube -- Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks

AK conceded that LE conceded very gracefully, without claiming large-scale voter fraud. She then said that they have to go to the "copium den". She also noted that claims of huge amounts of voter fraud are a problem for the Republican Party, because such claims have likely discouraged some Republican voters, likely costing that party both Georgia Senate seats. She has a lot of disagreements with GN and his policies, but she thinks that GN has done much better than many Republican governors. It was his handling of the virus that the Right objected to.

Dan Crenshaw on Twitter: "Honestly curious why Californians wouldn’t want some balance in their government. Works well in deep blue states like Massachusetts and Maryland, both with Republican governors.

In any case, great job @larryelder for giving it everything. No regrets!" / Twitter

Aaron Rupar on Twitter: "lol" / Twitter

I don't see this as a big deal myself, nor do I when some conservative Christian right wing firebrand is invited to an MTGreene rally. The purpose of rallies is attract attention and get people fired up. Political extremists serve that purpose. Regardless of party affiliation, having a speaker isn't the same as a blanket endorsement.

Oh? You found yourself an "anti-police, pro-left-wing-terrorism extremist"?
I'll see your anti-police, pro-left-wing-terrorism extremist and raise you a mob of 8000 cop-killing, capitol building trashing, violence-bent right wing anti-democracy fascists under the command of the guy Larry wanted to remain President.

Wow. The unarmed J6 crowd didn’t kill any cops. Amazing the tenacity of a narrative lie.

Officer Sicknic died the next day.. you know, that cop in one of the more played videos that was screaming in pain as he was being crushed by the mob.
Officers Jeffery Smith, Howard Leibengood, Gunther Hashida, and Kyle de Freytag committed suicide after the riot.

So that is 5 cops dead as a result of the riot.

Around where I live, people skip the middle part and just give homeless people pot instead of money. Seriously.

Repugs only cut taxes to their super-PAC corporate supporters. My taxes are higher after fuck-face removed all the breaks I used to get and gave them to large corporations.
Dems are marketing morons, and "defund the police" actually has no meaning whatsoever, despite having handed repugs a buzz line on a silver platter. Dems talk about how police are trained and want to make them better at dealing with the mentally ill.. repugs just use buzzlines to push "vote NOT THEM or else hell on Earth!!!".
Dems pander to Islam to help influence women's rights, and support the first amendment. Repugs pander to Christianity so that women can have their rights over their own bodies taken away and be sent back into the kitchen barefoot.

When conservative white people kill cops, you have to look very carefully for context and mitigating factors, excluding every possibility that might lessen the weight of their crime before daring to judge them.

Electricty went out here for several days so I missed the election. Newson survived, 67% to 33%. Far outside the 14% - 15% the polls predicted. This is encouraging. Elder was obviously an extremist and incompetent. With Texas and Florida as examples of what a stupid governor can do to a state, The extreme right wing swill Elder spewed continually did not sell. Maybe people are going to wake up come election day 2022.

Next big political event is the March 1 Texas primaries. If the Democrats want to beat Abbott they need to get going now. They need a strong candidate. Abbott is damaged, but has immense amounts of money stashed to run hard.

... and those 140 police who were injured, injured themselves to make the peaceful insurre - er, protesters look bad.
And they're still pretending!
At least 17 police officers remain out of work with injuries from the Capitol attack
Everyone knows they're faking it.
Besides, BLM injures that many cops every day, right Derec?
They also try to put a violent stop to Constitutional proceedings so they can install some loser as President.
Keep carrying that orange torch, Derec. No point in pretending you're not a right wing extremist any longer. Advocating for prostitution doesn't make you a lib'rul.

"Proven" is a strong word to use, in this context.

If providing of uncontested evidence isn't proof, what is?

Given your education, I'm surprised you would ask a question like that.

If you need education about social media bubbles, or the difference between evidence and proof, ask around. I'm not going to try and do that in an internet post.
