So, first, let me just say that this story of a possible interview has the look-and-feel of trying to gain a spotlight. Kind of like Putin's people spreading it or Tucker spreading it as a rumor so they both stay relevant. But it also could happen in theory. Maybe? If so, there's a catch to it, I think.

You see Tucker already does a lot of pushing Russian propaganda on his independent shows or whatever he has. The Russians thank him for it because they are able to say, "See, look? Even this independent American journalist agrees with us." If he interviews Putin, it puts them a little too close and this is especially true if he completely agrees with everything Putin says. So, it would seem like, if they do have Tucker interview Putin, he'd have to disagree with him over something, something inconsequential and not impactful to current power structures...like over Nancy Pelosi's hairstyle, US history, or whether sun tanning nether regions is worth the cost.

They could have Putin make a snide comment about historical US imperialism and Tucker make his face. You know the one. And then have him disagree and even debate a little back and forth before moving on to Ukraine where they have complete agreement:
Carlson, a skeptic of U.S. support for Ukraine, has described Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a “dictator” and “sweaty-like rat,” and in 2022 he said he was “rooting for Moscow,” The Guardian reported.

They both have to maintain cred with their own depraved audiences.

Falling out of windows does happen, and you never know when you might just hit the ground where there are a lot of bullets laying around.

Honestly, whatever he has is...not much. He follows in the tradition of Bill O'Reilly who was kicked out of his prime slot on Fox News and struggled to remain relevant by being platformed in places that were...not major mainstream media.

Fox has enormous reach, and perhaps more importantly reach with older Americans who are still watching cable news. Tuckums isn't wrong that online content is the future, but the people who ate up his stuff on cable is not too much interested in that future.

The same as in America, you can see tons of totally fucked up areas in Russia, just by watching depressing fight and industrial accident videos that are flooded online.

So how anyone can say that Russia (or the US) is doing great requires willful ignorance.

Some level of autopilot Potemkin Village must be going on.

I had not been fun of Tucker until he was fired and turned moderately pro-sane with regards to Russia.

Yeah, I still don't agree with him about Trump, but hey. if he (Tucker) can make America relatively sane again, I am all for it.
Good luck to him.

Honestly, whatever he has is...not much.
That "not much" is still orders of magnitude more than Russia currently has.
Russia has less of a media platform than Tucker Calrson?
Yeah...that was...a weird flex?

So for...what's Russian for shits and grins?....I searched where I can watch Tucker (the idiot who got canned by Fox, not the very excellent Jeff Bridges movie) and he's on the YouTube. A major online media platform. He has just under 900k subscribers. That's huge, right? Tucker is so much better for leaving Fox!

Or not. I subscribe to Rick Beato's "Everything Music" channel. He's a music producer who breaks down songs, has interviews with musicians, and has lessons. He also has just under 4 million subs, and he's arguably a "niche" channel. Doug Demuro the car reviewer has 4.9 millon. Scammer Payback, one of the channels that pranks/messes with scam call centers, has 7.1 million. Stephen He, the "emotional damage!" Asian comedian, has 11.7 million. Hell, the socialist channel Second Thought has almost twice as many subscribers as our "Man in Moscow" Tucker.

Yes, he has other outlets and has launched his own streaming service (good luck with that), but the point is that the former prime time host on the number one cable "news" network is way behind YouTubers who built their own channels from scratch. Beau of the Fifth Column...a guy who records videos in his shed in Florida...has as many followers on YouTube as Tucker.

And all of them “still orders of magnitude more than Russia currently has

Order of magnitude is 10x
OrderS of magnitude is at least 100x

So Russia has… what, 9000 subscribers? Maybe just 900?

WOOT?

"In Russia, social media subscribes to YOU!" (Yakov Smirnoff, probably)

I understand that Tucker was the most popular non-democrat personality with millions of views while at FoxNews.
I presume he still has it on twitter.
So yes, he absolutely more popular in the US than all pro-russian you-tubers combined.

The most popular english language "pro-russian" you-tube channel on my list has 400K subscribers.
There is one with 500K but the guy is pretty neutral.
Don't use twitter or telegram, They are more free in terms of free speech.

Carlson says in pinned tweet at URL^ above he is in fact interviewing Putin. The rumors must have been placed so people would know about it. His tweet has hundreds of thousands of hearts/likes. Russian bots? Qanons?

I haven't watched this weak justification video yet because I'm busy. If anyone with a currently empty stomach wants to go for it and give a summary, please do.

He has very little influence now that he’s off Fox News. He’ll go the way of Glenn Beck, who we thankfully never hear anything about anymore.
