I look more closely at character, behaivour, attitudes etc. rather than where they are from.

Uh, yeah, I do too. Duh.

But I like the fact that those QUALIFIED people excluded for two centuries and more by the white male patriarchy are getting their chance. You should like that, too. Do you?
I will always advocate for the best person for the job regardless of colour, sex etc.
And if there are multiple “ people” or the “best” person declines the job?

I ask because rarely is there a single best person because people are unique combinations of various skills.
They are a unique combination of various skills. If the "best" person declines the job then obviously another is considered.
Those who decide must weigh up all considerations.
Where born, skin complexion, sex etc. should not be a fatal barrier to consideration.
Where one is born is a fatal consideration for eligibility for the US presidency: one must be US born.

There are plenty of reasons to reduce the size of an applicant pool for a political position especially when it is unwieldy.

In any case, I think the cold political reality is she is going to have to pick a white man to balance the ticket. Beshear strikes me as a good choice.
I disagree, all-in! Negate the female issue by making it all female. By balancing it, you almost justify the concern.
There has been far too much scandal. 😡

My first reaction to this was trying to figure out what the "Ne" scandal is.

Ne scandal they can make stick! (Sorry for the horrid pun)

A black Indian woman as president is a marvelous thing to contemplate.
Her ethnic origin should not matter one way or the other.
And she is clearly super-qualified.
Qualified, yes, but what do you think makes her "super-qualified"?
She's very qualified. She has executive experience. She's run for and won office (senator and AG). She's been groomed to take over as VP for the past 4 years.

I think it is a viable argument to say an Attorney General is more qualified than a Senator.

Did a little data searching. Only one State Attorney General has ever been Vice President, Kamala Harris. Only one State Attorney General has been President, Bill Clinton.

Perhaps an Attorney General is more qualified than a Senator.
Moreso than a VP? I think not. How many former VPs have been president?
A: FIFTEEN

There is also the other route. VP Harris could name:
A GREAT WHITE SHARK

...as her running mate.
And how does a shark run without legs?

And how do you prove it's an American shark?
