El Sayed, if elected will be one of the smarted, most highly educated members of the Senate, and most of the BS that has been said about him were lies cooked up by the Repugs.

Abdul El-Sayed was inspired to consider a career in politics after Bill Clinton, who was delivering a commencement address at the University of Michigan, told him he had a natural gift for speaking and encouraged him to consider politics over medicine. El-Sayed went on to get his medical degree and ran unsuccessfully for governor of Michigan against Gretchen Whitmer in 2018 before winning the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate race in the 2026 midterm elections.

  • NC - Roy Cooper - 59% - 39% - 1%
  • SC - Annie Andrews - 51% - 47% - 1% - defeating Darline Graham, Lindsey Graham's sister
  • OH - Sherrod Brown - 49% - 46% - 4% - counted: 87%
  • IA - Josh Turek - 51% - 46% - 3% - counted: 94%
  • KS - Adam Hamilton - 51% - 46% - 3%
  • TX - James Talarico - 58% - 40% - 2% - counted: 75% - defeating Ken Paxton
In Maine, Troy Jackson and Susan Collins are neck-and-neck, though TJ recently pulled ahead, with 52% - 48%, with 65% counted.

Also neck and neck are Abdul El Sayed and Mike Rogers in Michigan.

R-to-D Governor positions:
  • OH - Amy Acton - 51% - 46% - 3% - counted: 89% - defeating Vivek Ramaswamy
  • GA - Keisha Lance Bottoms - 54% - 46% - counted: 95%
  • IA - Rob Sand - 56% - 44% - counted: 93%
  • TX - Gina Hinojosa - 56% - 42% - 1% - counted: 72% - defeating incumbent governor Greg Abbott
 
Still too early to tell, but here in AZ it looks like it might be the first time in over 60 years that Republicans lose their hammerlock on the legislature. Hobbs won the governor's race convincingly, our AG and SoS have made it past the post, and even the State Mine Inspector's race has gone blue.

He is educated, but he is hardly exceptional for a Senator. For example Rand Paul also has an MD, but unlike AES he is an actual physician who completed residency (at Duke no less!).

Him being a leader in MBA is not a lie. Him supporting Morsi in Egypt in not a lie. Him taking money from Islamists (including MB-affiliated ones) is not a lie. Him speaking at the Islamist ISNA conference is not a lie. Him campaigning with pro-Russia and pro-Hamas Hasan Piker is not a lie.
