2026 Mid-Term Elections

Do you have evidence for either of these absurd and contradictory claims?
Abdulrahman is not a communist, but he is definitely a fundamentalist Muslim with MB connections.

Note that it was the left wing, including Iranian communists, who helped the ayatollahs come to power in 1979, before they were betrayed by them. The Left has always been the useful idiot for Islamism. Look at you lot embracing the likes of AES, Hamawy or Chevalier just because they promise you M4A and other bennies.

Speaking of Iran, guess who is giddy over the results of the Midterms?

Fox News actually had pretty grounded and sensible coverage of the Midterms this morning, on the whole. Can't speak to the Guardian, but I don't think Fox has published anything about Abdul El-Sayed being an unashamed communist, fundamentalist Muslim.
Nobody is claiming that he is a "communist". But he has been affiliated with fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood since college, and as recently as this year taking money from Islamist groups and speaking at the Islamist ISNA conference, which has ties to MB.
Dude. The post quoted, and which I was asking about, makes that exact claim. I bolded it, just to be crystal clear what I was asking about. Tswizzle will not reply, of course, with anything more substantive than a rolleyes smiley, because you people aren't even serious about your own wild claims. You took it upon yourself to reply, but do not have any actual evidence to offer either.

“Inshallah” is an Arabic word that is not exclusively used by Muslims.
It is very widely used by Muslims, as it fits their fatalist theology.
And it seems that some bit players may be using it to rile up the far right.
You do not have to be on the far right, or on the right at all, to be concerned about Islamism. Many in the middle are also concerned, and people on the left should be more concerned, instead of seeing political Islam as some kind of ally.

I didn't see TS posting that when I posted (I was reading the thread Benjamin Button style), but when I saw his post I edited mine, even before you wrote yours.

But still, thanks for clarifying.

Ah, the nested quotes do get a bit wild sometimes. My own apologies are duly offered.

You would be happy too, if the nation that invaded your country were sharply rebuked by its own people for doing so.
US did not invade Iran. There have been some half-hearted air strikes, followed by a lot of TACOing.

Generally, while this war was persecuted atrociously poorly, I think it is useless to negotiate with the Islamist regime in Tehran. Look at the agreement negotiated by Obama. It gave the regime billions in sanctions relief and cash for only a temporary pledge to not develop nuclear weapons. There were no provisions in the agreement on Iran stopping the funding international terrorism, and sure enough, Tehran used these funds to bolster their terrorism networks. They armed Hamas and Hezbollah which led to the 10/7 attacks and the present Gaza war. They also armed the Houthis who then took over much of Yemen.

God willing is something I’ve heard out of the mouths of Christian’s ( or in some cases, ‘Christian’s’) fir as long as I can remember.

Not sure your issue with the phrase, rendered in Arabic? Except that it’s in Arabic?

We assassinated their supreme leader, got at least 8000 people killed, including 23 of our own service members whose grieving families would be very surprised by your contention that they have not been deployed, and anchored our warboats off their shores to engage in blatant acts of piracy in their waters. We're at war.

They’ve ( we’ve) done substantial damage including bombing a girl’s school, killing a lot of school girls.

I’m glad the GOP lost so soundly for many reasons but this war on Iran is a big one. It’s unnecessary, wrong headed, ill conceived and poorly executed and enormously expensive. All it’s done is make Putin happy and given Hegseth a hardon

Not sure about El Sayed (Same guy who just won in Mi?) but the other two don’t even ring a bell.
Hasan Piker is a pro-Russia, pro-Hamas propagandist with a huge Tiktok following who thinks US deserved 9/11 and who campaigned with Abdulrahman and other far-left Dems.

Hamawy just got elected to NJ-12 district after winning Democratic nomination with <30% of the vote. He was an associate of the Blind Sheikh who led the first WTC bombing. He attended an Islamist conference with him, translated documents for him, and even testified on his behalf at his trial. He also went to Bosnia and worked with Al Qaeda affiliated groups there.
Does the fact that I have no idea who the other two are, prove you’re full of shit?
No, it just proves that you are ignorant.
No worries. If that doesn’t do it, there’s lots more BS where that came from.
I am sure you are good for spewing a lot more BS, yes.

I didn't love every part of Obama's foreign policy, but do prefer any diplomatic solution to a disastrous, expensive, morally reprehensible, and ultimately losing war. Obama's presidency was also a decade ago and not very relevant to my assessment of the present situation.

Due to outdated intelligence. Apparently the building used to belong to the Navy.

But the aerial war should have been a lot more intense. All known IRGC targets should have been hit in a short span of time. Decapitation alone doesn't work - you need to disrupt all levels of leadership, as well as material basis of IRGC - the weapons systems, logistics etc.

Also, I wish we did not betray the Kurds just to appease Turks. Iranian Kurds could have been a powerful ally in overthrowing the regime.

It is very widely used by Muslims, as it fits their fatalist theology.

And other non-Muslim Arabs, which include Christians and Jews. And how exactly is the word “inshallah” fatalistic? Does the phrase “from your lips to God’s ears”, a turn of phrase I heard often growing up from my Jewish family members, a representation of “fatalist theology”?

That doesn’t really address my point. It would seem that David Hogg, not newly elected to a government position I don’t think, is jerking around far right people by using the phrase, knowing they would reliably react to it just as you have.

over a decade ago. Shouldn’t the military have the best intelligence about the targets they are striking? Apparently even a Google Maps check would have shown them this was a school.

My great hope is that the new Democratic Congress investigates this tragic debacle and holds some people to account.
