I presume he can present a certificate of forgiveness, signed by God.
Otherwise we only have his word for it, and we know from his previous behaviour that he's an untrustworthy scumbag...

I've never been in the military, but isn't this a condemnation of Hegseth's competence? He's basically saying he can't guarantee a soldiers safety on a fucking military base so they've gotta bring their own kit from home for protection.
