Yes I know some of you think PCR is a crack pot. But you still can not deny the conclusions he has made here. The fake impeachment effort against Trump will set a serious and harmful precedent to our democracy. No matter what you believe of PCR, his logic is flawless.

So even if you dont like Trump and I know there are many. This impeachment hunt just isnt worth it.

Let the voters decide in a year what they want. And for those of you who think the voters are too stupid to vote in their best interests....Im not sure what to say. Except that maybe you should consider moving to another country where you think the population is more intelligent.

The 'fake' impeachment is the one that Republicans are talking about. But there is a real inquiry into impeachment going on right now at this very moment.
 
A"coup"? That follows Constitutional law to the letter? That's not a coup. Coups are when you march on the government building and just sort of take it. Why you think such an action would somehow result in the preservation of the power of those inside the building is a bit confusing.

The whole point of the impeachment process is so that a president can be removed without another bloody revolution.

The title of his opinion piece supports the conclusion that PCR is a crack pot. PCR's "logic" is partisan bs. Calling the whistleblower "illegitimate" is false, and irrelevant to the issue of whether or not the POTUS offered a quid pro quo. PCR ignores the testimony of a number of actual witnesses who heard the POTUS offer a quid pro quo.

That is a different question than whether the impeachment is fake or not. It is a legitimate to ask whether it is proper for a sitting President to violate the US constitution by withholding Congressionally allocated and mandated funding in order to extract political favors to influence his election prospects against an opponent.

If one thinks what Trump did was impeachable, then why shouldn't one push for impeachment? I strongly suspect if HRC had been elected and then caught doing this, PCR would be singing a different tune.

I think the American public should get the full story about this incident. And until all of the transcripts are released and all of the witnesses publicly testify, I think it would be most helpful if all the "pundits" and politicians on all sides STFU. The American public does not need people telling it what to think on this issue, especially partisan crackpots like PCR.
 
The OP sounds like the bullshit coming from paid republican and russian stooges. Anything to protect putin's stooge. The whole idea of a "fake impeachment-coup" is an insult to the Constitution and our whole government by law. These are criminal acts by the POS and cannot be tolerated or accepted or ignored without the destructuon of the Constitution and laws.

It is undemocratic to have a king who is above the law. What you are arguing for is that the president should not be subject to the law.

Nothing undemocratic about our democratically elected representatives following constitutional procedures to remove the president from office.

Nevermind the fact that the impeachment hearings are following the rules and guidelines signed by a Republican Speaker of the House, and enacted by a Republican majority congress. I guess if Trump supporters are against the procedures laid out by their own fucking party, Republicans can't be trusted with any form of legislation, as they themselves are unhappy with the result.
 
So, basically, the Republicans who thought that lying about sex was a terrible impeachable offense, also believe that a. president who bribed a foreign country by threatening to withhold foreign aide that had already been approved by the Congress, in exchange for having a fake investigation on one of his biggest political opponents is perfectly okay? Got it!

In addition, there was plenty of evidence of Trump's probable obstruction of justice in the Mueller report but I doubt that any of the Republicans in Congress even bothered to read the report. There were something like 23 women who accused Trump of sexual assault but of course, they were all lying. There was Trump paying off a porn star to keep quiet about sex that he had with her. There was his obvious abuse of the emoluments clause, which I shouldn't have to explain to you. There was his use of his unqualified children being used in positions of power, and his well over 10,000 lies that we should all just ignore. Are you fucking kidding me! And, all of the witnesses have a history of being about as honest and dedicated to government service as you can get, without any evidence of being partisan. Isn't that something that Republicans used to admire?

Why does our constitution allow impeachment and removal form office of a president if we aren't going to use it on a man who has committed numerous impeachable offenses? That's cray cray!

Fuckin A! I never thought I'd see the day when so many people would try to defend and excuse a sociopath like Trump! The man may be mentally ill but what's wrong with his enablers?

You're saying that we should amend the law and allow a president to use the government and/or punish another country unless they help the president dig up dirt on rivals? Seriously? Would you want the Speaker of the House to have this ability also? Would you favor if she withheld aid from Venezuela unless they dig up dirt on Trump? Or should only the President be given this special ability?
 
It doesn't even have to be a quid pro quo to be a problem. President Twitler McCrazyPants used his office and taxpayer funds and government resources to go after his opponent. This is like using his charity to order a 10k portrait of himself except it's far more significant. Douchebag has murdered democracy, infected it with fake news, employed foreign agents to make constituents fall for propaganda. He's not going to leave if he loses either. This is just dumb. Trump has done a lot of impeachable actions and has richly earned his impeachment. The GOP fantasy that they can derail this well deserved impeachment by gas lighting us all this is actually a coup is an insult to our intelligence. If the GOP Senators in the end fails to do their duty as the evidence piles up, then there will have been a coup and our system of checks and balances. Accountability will have been over thrown which will only cause further polarization and divisiveness in the future. and may encourage more bad activity in the future by presidents who have no intention of acting ethically. This is not just about Trump. It is also about his minions in these attempts at extortion, cover up, and conspiracy. The US cannot afford to wink at such activities and accept them as normal or business as usual. There must be limits.
 
Democracy did not die during Bill Clinton impeachment.
As for this particular case republicans will not remove this POS unless they see that public opinion of republican base changes. Republican politicians only care about being elected.
