Heartening to see Ireland (where my 3 daughters are) kicking off the lunacy of the catholic monsters in so many ways. Are you listening, America???...

Abortions in Ireland will not cost women anything, officials have confirmed ahead of the procedure’s legalization. Irish voters repealed a decades-old abortion ban in their constitution in May and the country’s health minister, Simon Harris, confirmed Wednesday that the procedure will be available to women free of charge through the Irish health-care system. Harris said he hoped the move would prevent the creation of private clinics and stop women from traveling outside Ireland to seek abortions—as has happened for decades.

No it will not. Having an abortion is safer than having a baby.
I don't even want to click on your link because I feel like it will have intellectual gonorrhea or an internet virus or something.

I'm betting that it is saying something like, "if you have abortions, it means you're not having babies, and we found a link connecting lack of breastfeeding with increased cancer. So to save yourself from cancer, you have to have the babies.

Which ignores UTTERLY that
  • Most women who have abortions have already had a child
  • it's disgusting to try to force children on those who would like to be childless
  • There is a lot more at stake for women's health and well being that just breast cancer
  • Your group has probably misinterpreted the data and is probably wrong in the way that most zealotry based results are wrong
    oh, and,
  • It's none of your business anyway

It is interesting to see Ireland go from anti-choice to choice that is fully covered in one swoop, but I am truly happy to see it happen.

And yes, I can't wait until we can push the U.S. in that direction, and Medicare for All, and banning guns the way Canada is looking at now.

Ireland is following the example of Carthage with state supported child sacrifice. What was old is new again. Whatever happened to Carthage, anyway?

I think that's true. No sperm, no baby - not even for jebus - Mary cheated or lied...or would have had she ever existed.

There is however some inaccuracy in the time-spans given in the article. Current medical opinion, supported by much research, is that sperm can live and fertilize an ovum for up to 5 days, not the 2 cited. This, vastly increases the chance of sperm and egg meeting, and thus pregnancy.

Reality check:

1) Abortion does not cause breast cancer. Rather, childbearing reduces your breast cancer risk. Obviously, abortion removes this benefit.

2) Pregnancy is hard on the body and poses a certain amount of risk. Before you say it will cost their health you need to compare this risk to the protection given by childbirth.

3) The protective benefit is small. Does it exceed the number of pregnant women sacrificed on the altar of preventing abortion?

Note, also, that honest researchers generally look at years of life lost rather than mortality. Saving a young woman with many decades ahead of her produces a lot more benefit than saving an old woman who probably only has a couple of decades ahead of her.
