Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez vs. Mike Huckabee

I wish these Republican assholes would leave the woman alone. She isn't experienced, but I think she means well. She needs to learn her way around before she touts her success, but these old white Republicans are really making fool of themselves by attacking a young, inexperienced Congress woman. Don't these assholes have more better things to do? I guess not. They remind me of children picking on the new kid in the room.

Meaning well doesn't mean she's competent. She doesn't appear to be.
Compared to POTUS who is neither competent nor mean well she is a big improvement.

She's young and inexperienced, so we really won't know how competent she will be until she gets some experience. I never said that she was competent. I said that the old fools who are attacking her are assholes.

When she's old enough let's have her run for President.

A gem of reality embedded in a mountain of bedrock fear and denial. Nice.
Of course she'll be the same person in 14 years that she is today. 14 years in Congress never really changed anyone, right?
:hysterical:

I'm sure someone newer and shinier will come around for you guys to be infatuated with by then so you better get working on a constitutional amendment. I know just the poster-girl for the amendment fight!

Actually, it's very much in their best interests to be attacking her this way. They realize quite well, just as the Dems do, that this woman is one of the Dems' rising stars with a bright future ahead of her in politics. They need to damage her right now and begin the narrative of destroying her character, so that they'll be far more able to give her the Hillary treatment when she rises to true prominence.

Heh, no. On more right leaning sites I'd say there is a genuine and sincere belief she's a naive idiot. Which she continually bolsters by saying naive idiotic things.

Like this one:

A lot of those same 'right leaning' sites will also ignore far, far worse things by the moron in charge at the white house.

She is clearly green. Meanwhile, Mike Huckabee hasn't been in politics for over a decade and his last big thing was awarding an anti-Constitutional religious zealot in Kentucky with praise and attention.

I do agree that she's green--but that's a very dubious plus in my book as so many greens are well-meaning but their approaches are disastrous.

I can never thank enough the Democratic voters of New York's 14th congressional district for giving us Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the young Latina who stunned politicos by beating powerful Democrat Joe Crowley in the primary. Ocasio-Cortez's win was greeted with enthusiasm by the Bernie Sanders wing of the Democratic Party, who hailed her as a rising star and a champion for democratic socialism.

But since then Ocasio-Cortez has been a gaffe-generating gift to her opponents. First she completely whiffed on a question about Israel in an interview with PBS, even straight up admitting "I am not the expert on geopolitics on this issue." She earned a "Pants on Fire" rating from Politifact for the same interview, when she claimed that unemployment was down because people were working multiple jobs. In her next interview she completely flip-flopped on her response on the Israel question to please the left. She responded to the critics of the first interview by accusing them of being members of the alt-right (they weren't) and angrily accused her former primary opponent Crowley of secretly trying to mount a third-party run (he wasn't).

This was in a span of three days.

Ah, let the Pizzagating begin!

This is not "fear", it's "delight".

Yeah, it's all fun and games until someone elects a progressive.
:hysterical:

She should try to excite people with her plans. Prove she has real plans.

But not talk about how historic she is or what great victories she has won.

She does indeed talk about her plans. Try here.

And her plans seem to have the Faux talking heads spinning around and around.

I like her plans but you must understand how difficult it will be to do any of that?

She is nowhere near doing any of it.

It will be incredibly difficult to do any of it.

Nothing of any importance has happened yet.

Electing people is not important unless they do something.

AOC:
I have noticed that Junior here has a habit of posting nonsense about me whenever the Mueller investigation heats up.

Please keep it coming Jr - it's definitely a "very, very large brain" idea to troll a member of a body that will have subpoena power in a month.

Have fun!
Donald Trump Jr. 'dogs' Ocasio-Cortez, so she reminds the president's son of her subpoena power
On Thursday, Trump Jr. posted a meme to his Instagram account, which included a composite image of Ocasio-Cortez and President Donald Trump. The top image has Ocasio-Cortez asking, "Why are you so afraid of a socialist economy?" The second picture with Trump then says, "Because Americans want to walk their dogs, not eat them."
His girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, responded to AOC:
Did you just threaten to subpoena someone for criticizing you? As a lawyer and former prosecutor I find this deeply troubling.

I guess Derec is afraid of leftist chicks.

Meanwhile, I don't interpret "... [bad] idea to troll a member of a body that will have subpoena power..." as
troll me ==> you get a subpoena

It's more like (1) some people would take revenge and so (2) it's a stupid and impractical idea to troll such persons. It's like me saying, "It's stupid to call a police officer a swear when he pulls you over for speeding." It doesn't mean he/she will necessarily treat you differently, but it says a lot about you as a person and how dumb you are, if you want to take this risk. This is why she brought up the "very very large brain" quote. She is making fun of how stupid he is.

Now the other thing here is that I am sure Ocasio-Cortez views this whole thing as a certainty that Junior will get a subpoena in the first place. That's why she began her commentary with "I have noticed that Junior here has a habit of posting nonsense about me whenever the Mueller investigation heats up." She clearly has a positive view of the investigation and a view about Junior's culpability...which factually she should...since the meeting happened and they lied about it several times, including one time when Twitler dictated a response to the feds but pretended it was from Junior. So given that he will be there anyway, he HAS to be polite and compliant and not playing games WHEN HE'S THERE before Congress. His behavior over Twitter is indicative of non-compliance, rudeness, and possible risk of contempt before Congress at a later date.

So by that other reasoning, it is also a bad idea to be showing non-compliance and game playing and rudeness to someone who has the power to subpoena later on.

Yeah, she's once again showing her unworthiness for the office.

And I would have interpreted the original as meaning that socialists would have to eat their dogs because the economy is so messed up, not that they have a cultural desire to eat dogs.

I guess what goes around really does come around. This goes well beyond throwing stones in a glass house.
Two wrongs do not make a right.

True, but one side has been committing wrongs for years, so they forfeit any chance of playing the victim card when they get a very minor taste of their own medicine.

His Flatulence has no grounds for complaint here but we can see she doesn't belong in power, either.

It is an obvious reference to this.
Venezuela food shortages cause some to hunt dogs, cats, pigeons

I still remember the time when the prevailing opinion on these boards was to praise Chavismo and the glorious Bolivarian Revolution.
