Another unarmed black teenager killed by police

Apparently thinking "the world of her" wasn't enough to actually bail her out.
Bland was a hot mess.
So? Dealing with a "hot mess" of a person can be extremely taxing and confusing. It does not mean the family does not still love the person nor does it mean they do not think the world of their child. Anyone with a child or with a basic level of human sympathy ought to be able to understand that.

LD let's be fair. Derec does not have children or the requisite human empathy to relate to people who do. So asking him to understand how normal human beings feel in regards to unconditional love for their immediate kin is like trying to teach a fish to understand astrophysics.

I'm seeing a pattern that if there's any way the family can spin it that their son (it's always a son) was a victim, not responsible for what happened.

You are forgetting Sandra Bland. Her family thought the world of her, too.

Sandra Bland was a very different case and as far as I'm concerned the police didn't misbehave. The problem was with the jail.

I would feel safer if there were more criminals on the streets and fewer police.

At least if a criminal kills someone, there is a chance I can make them feel guilty for what they did.
