We've all seen those stupid (but sometimes fun) personality tests on Facebook. THIS is by the University of Cambridge, and shows you what kind of profile smart engines like Facebook can build about you from the information you provide them. The API I linked to above predicts demographics based on Facebook "likes".
Mine was almost dead accurate, but then, I'm not shy on Facebook as to my opinions. It scored me as 37 years of age (I'm 42). It scored me as a liberal non-believer, Contemplatively introverted, low on the neuroticism scale, correct on the sexual preference - I'm straight (I thought maybe I would have fooled it here, because I'm very gay-friendly/supportive on Facebook.)
It pegged me as married, which is close. (Long-term relationship with children)
It pegged me as 30% chance of being in engineering (nope) or 20% chance in IT (No, but an interest in of mine and I'm pretty tech savy.)
Fun!
