Arizona pastor predicts ‘AIDS-free Christmas’ if all gays are killed, as God commands

In the sermon, which was uploaded to YouTube on Monday from Faithful Word Baptist Church, Pastor Steven Anderson said that God has ordered in the scriptures that gays should be killed, and that if humanity wants to have an “AIDS-free world by Christmas,” he said, that’s what should be done.

“Turn to Leviticus 20:13,” he says in the video, “because I actually discovered the cure for AIDS.”


“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them,” Anderson read aloud.

“And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS,” he said. “It was right there in the Bible all along — and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable — right there. Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant.”

Isn't he being consistent with Bible teaching? The inerrantists especially must believe that genocide is a value-free event which can be justified if God's law demands it. Yes, execute the Sabbath worker, which I guess means Saturday plus Sunday, to be safe. Execute the bride who can't prove her virginity. Execute the adulterers and the Wiccans and anyone, including your brother, who tries to spread a new religion and get you into it. There are about 3 dozen O.T. death penalty offenses. I have talked about him before. I think he is one of the anti-gay pastors who is thoroughly straight and totally a narcissistic, hate-filled ego monster.

I mean a person can hate Gypsies and not be afraid of being a Gypsy themselves. Also, he does not spend a lot of time talking about gay people. I have watched about 2 hours of his sermons and he doesn't talk about gay people too much.

Let me give a funny brief aside. Anderson was mentioned positively on (of all things!) "This American Life" recently for his incident of going through a police checkpoint and being assaulted by the police.

When I heard his name I knew the video already and back when I saw it I thought he was a cool, but intense guy. So he has that charlatan charisma going for him, IMO.

Anyway, he is an interesting off-the-charts asshole.

Hopefully, he has gone far enough to lose enough cred with most other church organizations.

It's my opinion, after thinking on this question, that it's a kind of Darwinian response. It leaves their inner lizard uncertain if they are facing a rival or not. And this uncertainty makes them on high alert - at any second will I have to combat this one for mates? or can I turn my back because it's not a threat? Looks like man, but is not man... is it a disguise? A wolf in sheep's clothing? Or an actual wolf, looking like a wolf, but calling itself a sheep? And why do they care more about male homosexuals than female homosexuals?

I've decided that the subconscious battle in humans, particularly men, is not a primitive obsession with mates, but rather a subconscious primitive obsession with rivals. And the uncertainty makes them very primitive indeed.

I personally know a lot of evangelicals and I don't know a single one who would agree with this idiot, or fail to condemn what he said, for the reasons I gave. This guy is not different from an Ayatollah who issues a fatwa on somebody for drawing a cartoon of Mohammed.
