Beer & ale

I used to prefer European beers. But now I'm all about American beer. Cascade hops is my favourite hops. There's some great beers made with that. I also used to make my own beer. Buying American ale yeasts always turned out for the best. Good stuff.

Hibernation ale was my favourite. It's American.

Doppel-Spaten is the best beer I ever had. And one of the strongest. Hard to locate, but it was here in the US, upstate NY, back in the 80s.

Can't find it here in the desert, but then Lake Havasuvians think Bud Light is a great beer.

The explosion of "craft beers" in the USA has been brilliant. A few pubs have opened up that offer a great selection of locally brewed beers and they don't sell the domestic swill like Bud, Miller or Coors. Even the major supermarkets have a decent selection of beers alongside the domestic mass produced beers. Shame about Golden Road selling out to InBev, I've not had any since I found out but it's probably just the same.
