Bidengate Breaks... err... down

A 64-page document that was later disseminated by close associates of President Donald Trump appears to be the work of a fake "intelligence firm."

One month before a purported leak of files from Hunter Biden's laptop, a fake "intelligence" document about him went viral on the right-wing internet, asserting an elaborate conspiracy theory involving former Vice President Joe Biden's son and business in China.

The document, a 64-page composition that was later disseminated by close associates of President Donald Trump, appears to be the work of a fake "intelligence firm" called Typhoon Investigations, according to researchers and public documents.

The author of the document, a self-identified Swiss security analyst named Martin Aspen, is a fabricated identity, according to analysis by disinformation researchers, who also concluded that Aspen's profile picture was created with an artificial intelligence face generator. The intelligence firm that Aspen lists as his previous employer said that no one by that name had ever worked for the company and that no one by that name lives in Switzerland, according to public records and social media searches.

I wonder if these are the same documents the Tucker Carlson team mishandled.

Ad happy NBC won’t let me read the story but just from this clip I can see it’s rife with inaccuracies. First off, it’s “Qyphoon Qinvestigations” and Martin Aspen is a real person. He drives an Aston Martin and this handsome devil’s actual photo can be found in various Target stores in the picture frame section.

So what else is going to happen next with this story? There will be email drips, quotemines, things taken out of context.

Among the things that are coming will be the following (in no particular order):
  • email drips that goes after moral character so that everyone just accepts the quote-mines. For example, Hunter's choices in porn exaggerated, an affair, emails about drug deals, emails about "money laundering" (taken out of context)...
  • email drips implicating Joe Biden (more out of context stuff)...
  • a full release of all the emails with not enough time to go through them...
  • some Eastern European guy being interviewed by Ghouliani who seems to confirm part of the story...
  • an American being interviewed, probably an "ex-friend" of Hunter's because that is more convincing than a foreigner to some people.

The drips will be timed up to Election Day for maximum impact.

Emphasis added.

Here you go:

Hunter biz partner confirms email, details Joe Biden’s push to make millions from China: Goodwin

#1, #2, and #5 have already happened.

Is the Tucker Carlson thing the dump? Maybe it's all they can do if the hard drives are with the FBI. Allegedly. So I think there will be something here over the weekend or Monday with tons of info/dump that is extremely hard to verify.

The dog ate my political scandal seemed to be tossing what was left at the wall. They have transitioned to 'why is the fake news not covering our fake news?' Again, this is just working to the base.

It's not just the base, they want to make independents and typical non-voters so wary of the Bidens as much as they are of the Trumps so that they don't bother voting or continue to be undecided. That's always part of the goal of the Republicans--keep the votes down.

Right wingers will believe any bullshit.

One month before a purported leak of files from Hunter Biden's laptop, a fake "intelligence" document about him went viral on the right-wing internet, asserting an elaborate conspiracy theory involving former Vice President Joe Biden's son and business in China.

One of the original posters of the document, a blogger and professor named Christopher Balding, took credit for writing parts of it when asked about it and said Aspen does not exist.

Naturally, Tucker Carlson is doing some tremendous backflips on this story.

Here's what happened when NBC News tried to report on the alleged Hunter Biden emails
Analysis: Trump complains the media isn't reporting on Hunter Biden's emails. But NBC News met obstacles, including Rudy Giuliani, when it tried.

The complaints from President Donald Trump and his allies have been growing louder as the election approaches: Why isn’t the mainstream media covering the Hunter Biden laptop story?

Trump and his allies say there is evidence of corruption in emails and documents allegedly found on a laptop belonging to Democrat Joe Biden’s son. They say those and other documents show that Hunter Biden used his father’s influence to enrich himself through business deals in Ukraine and China, and that his father not only facilitated that, but may have benefited financially.

But the Wall Street Journal and Fox News — among the only news organizations that have been given access to key documents — found that the emails and other records don’t make that case. Leaving aside the many questions about their provenance, the materials offered no evidence that Joe Biden played any role in his son’s dealings in China, let alone profited from them, both news organizations concluded.

And, although no evidence has emerged that the documents are the product of Russian disinformation, as some experts initially suggested, many questions remain about how the materials got into the hands of Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, who has met with Russian agents in his effort to dig dirt on the Bidens.

U.S. intelligence agencies have informed the White House that Giuliani has been in contact with alleged Russian intelligence agents. The FBI has been looking into whether the Russians played any role, and no official has ruled that out.

At the same time, dozens of former intelligence officials have said the story has the hallmarks of a Russian intelligence operation. After the election interference of 2016, the news media is especially wary of doing anything to further an effort by a foreign government to intervene in a presidential campaign.

So basically Trump supporters went out of their way to find child porn, put it on a laptop and frame Hunter Biden for it? Classy.

Yeah, they're guilty of actually looking for the truth.

I think everyone is being pretty casual with their pronouns. I'm assuming the "They" in Loren's post is NBC and not Giuliani's mob.

So when do the lawsuits start for defamation of character?

After all of this bullshit, they had nothing.

Yeah, I don't see how what I wrote could be interpreted any other way. NBC wants to actually verify the story and isn't being given a look at the actual data so they won't publish.

They (NBC and the media in general) got hoodwinked in 2016 with the "FBI Indictments" on the Clinton Foundation.

Repair shop owner at center of Hunter Biden saga defends himself

The Delaware computer shop owner at the heart of the Hunter Biden laptop saga has released a video defending himself against allegations that he’s a “Russian hacker” or spy.

John Paul Mac Isaac said he was “hired, never paid” to transfer information from a MacBook Pro to an external hard drive — which was later found to contain bombshell emails about Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings.

“For two generations, the Mac Isaac family has fought for the entirety of the Cold War against communism in the ’70s,” Mac Isaac says in a 3-minute YouTube video titled “The truth” and posted Dec. 5.

“That’s why it’s completely absurd that why anyone would ever consider me to be a Russian agent or influenced by Russians. I am proud of my family, I’m proud of my country. I am proud to be an American.”

Mac Issac turned over a copy of the laptop to Rudy Giuliani’s lawyer, Bob Costello, after it and the external hard drive were seized by the FBI last year.
