California Doing California Things

Behave yourself. Most cities don’t have this problem of “homeless” people shitting in the street.
So you're admitting that you can offer no such proof. That is not surprising.

Lol, behave yourself.
16 years of democrat rule, who should I be blaming for the mess if not Democrat policies?
Yourself, your lazy and dishonest friends, and anyone who acts like you and your lazy and dishonest friends.

I don’t set the policies fella.

Better yet, grow up, and start looking for solutions to problems instead of wasting time coming up with convoluted arguments for how all the problems of life are somehow caused by the California governor.
I didn’t create the problems. I think the people that created the problems should be the ones to solve them.

Nah, I’ll stay just to spite you.
No one can stop you, but it makes it obvious how unserious and hypocritical you are. In daily life, you enjoy everything this state gives you (despite giving nothing back to it), but come on here to pretend it's a unliveable hellhole because your politics are stupid as shit.

The state takes from me but gives me nothing. Not even a high speed rail service.
since you brought up transparency it is pretty obvious that you despise normal people trying to live normal lives.
No, I despise useless people who complain about everything and contribute nothing.

I complain about the “homeless” shitting in the gutter and things like that. I contribute by being a responsible citizen and not shitting in the gutter.
You and your ilk like the “homeless” tormenting normal people.
There's nothing normal about you, at least not in the context of California. You might be normal somewhere else, perhaps whatever hellhole you crawled out of. But here, it's painfully obvious that you're a social leech, sucking off your betters and then complaining about the quality of the blood. Leave. There are plenty of real Republican swamps in the country to go feed off the bottom of.

Ooft, you really do despise normal people. Which is why you like having “homeless” people fucking things up for us.

Los Angeles officials are rolling out a $2.8 million program to give away nearly 300 free street food carts — but a well-known SoCal chef says the effort once again shows how the city makes it nearly impossible for traditional restaurants to do business.

“There’s two different sets of rules,” restaurateur Andrew Gruel told The Post. “If I were, as a brick-and-mortar business, to do anything outside the regulatory framework of the city — zoning, health standards, wage laws — I’m going to get smashed left and right.”[/quite]

Are these food carts supposed to operate on the sidewalks? Good luck with that.

You people really do take gullible to fascinating, even dizzying new heights.
Once they admit voting for Trump, it’s just watch and wait. The gullible is staggering.

I've never seen a food cart not subject to health standards.
You've probably also never seen someone taking a dump in the middle of the day on a sidewalk. You will if you come to to California.
You think we don't have homeless people here?

How arrogant of you to think all those problems are California exclusive and caused by the liberal government.

No no, you just have normal homeless people. We have "abnormal" "homeless" people. The difference is that you can only perceive the latter if you're deranged from watching way the fuck too much tv.

I never claimed any of those things you just said. But, this is a thread about California so that's why it gets a mention here. In case you're interested in actual facts about homelessness, California does have the most highest homeless population out of all 50 states (24% of the US population, in fact) and is #6 on a per capita basis (behind Washington DC, New York, Vermont and Hawaii). Your state (MI) is actually towards the bottom (about 10 per 10,000 people), compared to CA (about 46 per 10,000 people). We are almost 5 times more than you.

Which states have the highest and lowest rates of homelessness?

In terms of raw number of people more Californians experienced homelessness than residents of any other state: 181,934 people. New York had the second-most with 145,560. No other state had even a quarter of that. (California is the most populous state in the US; New York is the fourth-most.)

I hear a lot of conservative dipshits are moving to Idaho and Texas these days.... the weather is lovely... there are potatoes...

However, you have maybe seen in the news about lettuce that is carrying a bacteria that is causing food poisoning.
Concentrated in rural Michigan, Ohio, and Minnesota. Those famously Californian locations, just stuffed full of dodgy food carts.
To date, 41cases of cyclospora have been reported in Minnesota.

For the folks that haven’t seen them, the carts being used are basically a modified shopping cart type device with a hot plate and propane tank. I see them outside Crypto Arena selling hotdogs and other food. I’d need to be really desperate to buy food from one of these. But there are more extravagant set ups where two, three eezyups are set up, tables, grills and full on catering for tacos and burritos and all the fixings. They just pitch up in parking lots and sidewalks. People buy the food so they survive.
I could see someone selling sealed-in-plastic popsicles, candy bars, etc out of a food cart. No problem with that. But preparing food like tacos and burritos from scratch (sort of) sounds like asking for trouble. So many questions. If you're preparing food, do you wear, say, a hair net, and disposable gloves? How do you keep random stuff, like dust and debris carried by winds from nearby construction, etc from contaminating things? Or if a car drives by through a nearby puddle and splashes nasty water on your cart, what do you do? I don't know anything about Crypto Arena, but do the food cart people use parking lot port-a-potties to take a leak or dump, and are they able to wash their hands adequately afterwards? Does perishable stuff like mayonaisse sit out in the hot sun all day, or do the carts have small refrigerators to keep them cool? Do they give you utensils to eat your side of Spanish Rice, or do you have to eat it with your hands? ;) A year ago, I probably wouldn't have been so concerned, except that I got a severe case of food poisoning last October that left me basically incapacitated for three days, and it was 2-3 weeks before I started feeling pretty normal. I'm kinda paranoid nowadays.

Isn't God smiting Texas with the second "1000 year" flood in two years?
Tom
And the Midwest/Northeast is swathed in wildfire smoke. God seems to be pretty pissed with his "conservative" fans this year. Perhaps because they are writers of infamous laws, who rob the orphan, make the widow their prey, and forget that they too were once strangers in a strange land.

I’ve seen plenty of these carts in operation on Hollywood Blvd too. So many questions. No real answers though. People must be buying from them otherwise they wouldn’t be there.

There are a couple of spots that seem to be quite popular.

It’s starting to look like Mumbai in parts of North Hollywood.

Indeed. My sister lives in (a “nice” part of) Montgomery AL, and can tell similar tales.
I believe the difference is that most of the people in Montgomery who are reduced to defecating in the street are black, while the ones (I’ve seen) in So CA are white or brown. Apparently with black people
it’s expected in Tommy Tatertown’s State, and accepted as a better alternative than subsidizing any effort to lift black people out of poverty.
I’m totally not sure what Swiz’ remedy might be, though I suspect that purging anyone from government whom he considers an insufferable prick, would be the first step.

The outbreak has been traced to Taylor Farms corp. that supplied Mexican iceberg lettuce to Taco Bell. My wife eats Taylor Farms bagged salads but not ones with lettuce.
