how exactly do you compare a regional racial group to a religion and why?
I think they have in common an ignorance of the Scriptures they hold all-important and a deep desire to hurt others, but conservative Muslims can be split into red-neck equivalents who behave decently (at least in their own view) and young, despairing persons who know what the West is like and dream of only vicious revenge.

If being "redneck" means being ignorant, of course.
All groups of humans will have some people who are ignorant.
The US seems to have far more than it's fair share.
The fact that the US owes it's existence to rapid and mass genocide of the natives and slavery has something to do with this.

Creation of wars in the Middle East for which we are seeing the fallout is more recent.
As a society the US offers more than most countries, but it's a shame about its foreign policy of intervention and regime change to suit its own agenda.
For some reason which has never been fully explained, or perhaps never fully explored, Rednecks remain the only ethnic group which may be maligned on this forum, without fear of sanction.
It's because they're too stupid to know how to use the internet, so there's no possibility of causing them direct offence. It's the same reason that there's no problem with saying that all Belgians are serial killers - no Belgian is actually ever going to read it ... and also because they're a nation of serial killers and anyone looking to travel there should be made aware of that.

Because, sadly, Liberals don't really care about the values that they espouse. It has simply become my team versus your team. It's sickening. It's something straight out of Animal Farm.
In Belgium, street venders sell fried potatoes (they call them pomme frits, or something like that) and offer six kinds of mayonnaise as a condiment. You will not find tomato ketchup anywhere around. I think this ends any attempt to compare Belgians to rednecks.
This is not a claim that a redneck would not put mayonnaise on his french fries, if there was no other choice. It is reported that in some places, the redneck population spreads gravy and cottage cheese on their fries and call it by a vulgar name usually reserved for a woman's genitals.

Not from where they were born.
And to me "redneck" means ignorant white Southerner.
Not white Southerner.
No man is bigoted in his own eyes, but has perfectly good reasons for his prejudices.
It seems every group needs someone to look down upon, if only to elevate themselves above rock bottom.
