Captain America: Civil War trailer released

I love the part at 1:47 when Black Panther doesn't react at all to incoming gunfire. You can almost see him thinking "Go ahead. Use your primitive weapons on me."

I liked the Antman on the arrow scene the best - that looked cool. Especially because it showed that even though there was a fight between two groups of superheroes going on, Captain America still managed to find the time to give Hawkeye and Antman something to do.

What a nice man.

Cause he's not very interesting?
That, plus Hawkeye's role in Age of Ultron all of the movies was farcical.

There. That's better.

I mean, even in the context of a super hero movie, the idea that an inch-long arrowhead can carry the same destructive power as a hellfire missile is a bit ridiculous.

Well, they need him for the end scene in Avengers 4, so they're not going to kill him off in a side movie. Cap's the only one at risk of dying and that's not even going to take.

Especially when sometimes he just killed off robots and aliens by stabbing them with the arrow before shooting someone else. I really don't get why robots are so vulnerable to mild stabbings. That's a design flaw.

Its because Legolas did it.

And in comic books, everything is more effective than guns. Punching, hammers, spears, ants, arrows, fish, silk, everything.

I can't remember which comic book writer said it, but one lamented "In comic books, death is just a temporary inconvenience."

The good thing about Marvel movies is that I know exactly what I'm getting and don't have to worry about reviews or spoilers.

And a B+ on the Onion AV club, (the critic group that I find most reliably matches my taste)

92% on Rotten Tomatoes: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/captain_america_civil_war/

...but only 77% on Metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/movie/captain-america-civil-war

Quick reminder: Rotten Tomatoes tells you what percentage of reviews are positive, while Metacritic averages rating scores together.
I was browsing the negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes (now up to 96% I think) and I think most of those people just don't like this type of movie. Some of the positive reviews I scrolled through indicated a strong film.

The movie is a solid 9/10.

The action is excellent, the storyline flows directly from previous MCU movies with intriguing hints of things to come, and the introduction of Black Panther is well done. Ant Man and Spiderman add a bit of lighthearted humor without being silly or undercutting the seriousness of the conflict. Even Hawkeye has something important to do. And, as promised, the focus is on personal motivations, which gives the audience ample reason to feel for the characters rather than just watch them duke it out with/against their friends.

9/10

It does a really job of tying together character development and plot threads from previous movies, manages to juggle a gargantuan cast without getting confused or jumbled, and the action sequences are the best of any comic book movie yet. The only real complaint I have is that they toned down the political messages of the source material.

I felt Ironman 3 was too hammy at times, but this movie dealt the humor so well and sincerely.

As I noted in movie thread, I don't know how the film could have been put together any better. The folks who did this are in charge of Avengers now right?
