Cocaine was found in the White House, GOP led House demands why the White House was sullied with such disgrace. No really.

The cocaine was in a small Ziploc bag and found in a cubby used by visitors to store cellphones and other personal items in an area near the West Executive entryway on the ground floor of the West Wing.
Color me skeptical. When I first saw a headline on this, I figured cocaine was found in the building, on a table... next to a passed out Hunter Biden. But it was found in a baggie, in a cubby for visitors to place their personal items (cell phones, keys, illicit narcotics). I have a hard time thinking someone would bring that to the White House, put it in a cubby, and forget to take it? I mean, all three things seem implausible. It would seem more likely it was put there to be found.

The GOP controlled House wants answers!

The Oversight chairman said that the "alarming" incident requires the committee to examine the security practices at the White House and "determine whose failures led to an evacuation of the building and finding of the illegal substance."
Are people required to be strip searched upon entry? We aren't talking a couple kilos here.

Yes, this needs to be sorted out, but the GOP looks kind of funny talking about "shame" and the White House.

This after Orangey infected the White House with covid. (The fact that he didn't die from it, given all the nonsensical birdbrained solutions he promoted for it, is proof positive that there is no intrinsic justice in the cosmos.) Right on, Repubs. Your guy tracked a deadly disease into the building, after infecting his followers with equally deadly untruths about it. Some months later, he riled up a crowd to break windows and door jambs and invade the Capitol -- where some of them took dumps on the furniture. Somehow you're feigning outrage about some blow left by a tourist? Tucker Carlson needs the raw footage on this.

It is a very slow news week if anyone is really squeaking about this.

It is a very slow news week if anyone is really squeaking about this.

Or,
People are looking for things to talk about other than:

ex-POTUS Trump's legal woes.

DJTj's aborted Australian tour.

Trump's buddy Putin and his invasion of Ukraine.

The MTG/Boebert catfight.

The GOP hopefuls turning on Trump.

Or any of that sort of thing.

Oh behave. We've all seen the pictures from meth fiend Hunter's laptop. Next you'll be saying it wasn't Hunter that put the laptop in for repair and forgot about it.

Smartest guy Brandon knows.

No, I don't know that I have.
I've seen pics from a laptop Giuliani claims are Hunter's pics. That's not the same.

I will agree, those pics were sufficient to prevent me from ever voting for Hunter Biden for any political office.
Next you'll be saying it wasn't Hunter that put the laptop in for repair and forgot about it.

Didn't that seem suspicious to you?
I'm kinda internet stupid. But I wouldn't even take a laptop to someone I didn't know if it had that much incriminating information on it. Much less leave it there.

That is a verbose way of agreeing that it is a slow news week.

Yes, this needs to be sorted out

Does it, though?

I mean..."cocaine found in a government building in Washington DC" is about as shocking a headline as "cocaine found in financial office on Wall Street" or "cocaine found in rich kid's college dorm room in the 80s." (that last one is just an example. I hardly knew that guy)

If anyone is still even mildly surprised that people at high levels of our government (pun intended) aren't ingesting chemicals to keep up a 20 hour a day work schedule, I'd like to sell them a fresh box of Trump Steaks.

And the GOP? "OMG there's drugs at work in Washington DC? We need to be outraged!" is about as sincere as pretending to be shocked over an extramarital affair after elevating said steak salesman to the leadership of their party. But then...they truck in outdated outrage all the time. To hear the GOP tell things, the biggest threats to this country are communism, the gays, and (apparently now) a drug that stopped being "edgy" when Studio 54 shut down.

I didn't realise how much I missed these piss weak bullshit scandals from the White House that have zero impact on global stability until Dark Brandon got sworn in. America, please don't change back. Always eat before midnight or something.

The comments about this on WaPo were very entertaining. Many claimed it was a secret service agent or of course a plant by a Trump supporter. That makes sense, or someone could have simply dropped it out of his pocket, while reaching for his phone. I say his because women don't do such dumb things. They would keep their drugs in their purses, concealed in something better than a plastic bag. :D

Good old Tom Cotton wants a serious investigation as to why Whitehouse security is so lax that somebody was able to walk in with a tiny amount of cocaine in his pocket, then drop it somewhere.Yes. A tiny amount of coke is the biggest problem we are facing these days, or at least it seems as if certain Republicans think so. It does make one wonder what drugs they are taking if they really believe that.

At least it wasn't a condom. I mean can you imagine the right wing outrage? Republicans would want to appoint a special counsel and do DNA testing.

The location where it was found has changed.
That's physically impossible.

You mean the story has changed.

Which doesn't add to its already shaky believability, nor to its dubious importance.

OK, thanks for the much need clarification. I'm sure many here were completely lost with my original comment.

Its importance is dubious, yes. Depends on who left it. If it was some low level Millenial gopher boy...meh. If it was Hunter Biden...well, yawn. That would be about #763 of the 1000 most reckless things he's done in the last ten years. If it was someone from the DEA...kind of important, at least from an optics standpoint. POTUS or VP or other important cabinet member? Then Cocaine-gate is suddenly not a joke anymore.

I don't know about shaky believability. Haven't really heard anyone expressing serious doubt as to whether cocaine was actually found, whether Rep or Dems or anyone in the news media. It was found and reported by the Secret Service. Maybe the SS is up to something?!

At any rate, it does have the concern of the top level personnel at the White House. In fact, so much so, that conversation about it is taking place using the (rather buggy) Cone of Silence (demo video below):

Noel Casler Who worked with Trump in the days of Trump's Miss America Pageant and The Apprentice Show stated Trump was notorious for his use of cocaine and snorting Adderol. And pooping his depends on The Apprentice set. As Caseler pointed out, heavy cocaine use has a laxative effect.
