CVS manager called 911 because of the attitude of a customer when the cashier didn't trust her coupon.

Here is an interesting tidbit at the end of the article:

"Matson is running for Chicago City Council and was a state delegate for Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign."

Is it possible that in some cases there are blacks who are just plain assholes?

Sure, but being an asshole is neither a crime nor a misdemeanor. If we're going to start arresting assholes, then I'd start with that manager, myself.

Well, actually there is a long line of assholes I'd start with but I would like to point out that they are all white.

So this is the coupon which at first glance looks sketchy - but I am not a store manager so I have NO IDEA if coupons often look like this.

But after a couple minutes thinking about it, it could easily make sense if manufacturer X makes an item that they label with the stores brands A, B and C. This should be common knowledge for a store manager.

Their website:

Looks like the coupon was made for a wide selection of brands and was separately printed or stamped for CVS at a later time.

Did they try the bar code?

There have been whole 4chan threads devoted to making functional, believable counterfeit coupons for everything from soup to Xboxes. When it comes to counterfeit coupons, that one looks LESS sketch to me because instead of couponing something valuable and resaleable, it's couponing a single package of a diaper product. Hell, it isn't even for an expensive diaper product.

Sure. Did anyone anywhere ever claim otherwise?

But the incident in the OP isn't one of those situations. The CVS cashiers rejected a valid coupon and then got rude about it. You can't blame the customer for being irritated.

I had plenty of rude customers back in my day. Never thought about calling 911, even though a few were even black.

Yeah, that looks awfully dodgy, I'm not going to blame them for questioning it. (I will blame whoever designed something like that, though!)

The internet is ripe with stories of people calling 911 for the stupidest shit imaginable. Here's a few:

http://mentalfloss.com/article/29254/10-ridiculous-reasons-call-911

2. Your husband won’t eat his dinner. A woman in Kerrville, TX, called 911 because her husband “did not want to eat his supper.” That wasn’t the first time area police had been to her house, though—30 calls over six months included requests for assistance finding lost clothing and catching her dog. She’s been charged twice with abusing the 911 system.

7. You need a ride. James Finlayson of Bangor, Maine, called 911 repeatedly to ask for a ride. When officers showed up, he was “belligerent and nasty,” but they gave him a lift anyway, directly to Penobscot County Jail. This is a bigger problem than you might realize. The tagline of Florida's whentocall911.com is "It's an emergency vehicle. Not a taxi."

9. You’re unhappy with your manicure. Cynthia Colston’s nails were too short, she said, or too long, which she also said, and after arguing with her nail tech, she dialed 911 to complain. Then, she called again to ask when the officer would arrive. When authorities showed up, she called again to complain that nothing was being done. Four calls and a confusing report later, Colston was jailed for abusing the emergency dispatch service. And at some point, her nail tech allegedly hit her in the mouth with a nail clipper.

10. You can’t have it your way. A woman at Burger King can’t get her Western Barbecue Burger made properly. Dispatch was not amused. It’s possible that this item doesn’t even exist on Burger King menus, which explains the frustration of the “uncooperative” manager.

There have been literally thousands and thousands of such incidents such as these over the years by a multitude of dumbfucks. Yet when one of these white dumbfucks calls 911 when a black person is the target, its automatically racism.

They scan it?

Here is the trouble here. Shit communication.

1) The coupon does look suspicious. How well did the cashier tried to get that across without being a complete dick? It can be a legit concern of their's. "I have never seen a coupon like this before. I've seen many coupons, but never one like this." Try scanning it... if it works... "well, how bout that." If it doesn't, say the machine doesn't recognize it. "Hey siri... First Quality Retail Services". "OK, this is what I found." Oh... this is either a real good forgery, or this is actually legit. Even if it doesn't come up, at this point, you've shown a reasonable customer they've done the best you could do. That doesn't sound like this actually happened.
2) Cashier left his machine with a customer there. Who does that?
2a) Looking for a manager? Aren't there phones or communication devices at that store, making it unnecessary to leave the post?
3) Customer follows cashier. Umm... no... you don't do that. Sure, the cashier is being rude as all heck, but you don't follow the staff. This isn't about making a point. Getting in people's faces isn't going to help your case.
4) Manager doesn't seem to do anything but assume the coupon is fraudulent. Christ, I remember being a cashier at Dicks Sporting Goods and getting cut off at the knees when a customer was wrong, I insisted, then contacted the manager, and short of just giving away the store, they'd make certain the customer got whatever they wanted even when not entitled to it.
5) Manager calls 911 because uppity black person isn't talking nice to him. Grow a fucking pair will ya?

"CVS" looks like it was inserted as a low quality jpeg into the document.
