I think the issue was the MAGA hat and the appearance that a teenager was up in the face of an older person. At the very least, political messaging aside, the proximity of the teen to the older man appeared disrespectful and confrontational. So did the actions of the rest of the school group.

My very first thought when I heard Trump say Make America Great Again was that he was absolutely unqualified to be POTUS. And when he publicly invited Russia to hack his opponent’s emails, I could not believe that he wasnt immediately taken into custody for treason.

FWIW, it’s not against the law in the US to be a racist or to be elected and to hold public office if you are a racist, or to tweet racist tweets even if you are the POTUS. The POTUS will publicly proclaim you to be a very fine person.
