Covington student's lawsuit against WaPo dismissed

want you guys to understand how pathetically stupid it would be if white men were
I guess it's not enough for you that you see racism everywhere you look, you also have to constantly bring up 'what if' anecdotes for racism you did not see happen...but believe you would...if it happened...which it didn't...
But no one would call it racism if this non-happening ever happened because reasons.

Yes, a lot of 16 year olds are really awkward. Not everyone outgrows it.

I think the issue was the MAGA hat and the appearance that a teenager was up in the face of an older person. At the very least, political messaging aside, the proximity of the teen to the older man appeared disrespectful and confrontational. So did the actions of the rest of the school group.

Throw in the MAGA hats and the purpose of the Native American group and there’s an entirely different appearance.

You are aware by now I hope that the older man was the one getting up in the kid's face and the kid showed great restraint in the face of someone being an asshole?

as far as the hat goes if you take it as a given that a MAGA hat means someone is a Nazi, you are the problem.

Just because in your fevered mind you have demonized a hat doesn't mean everyone is required to adopt your view.

Nope I’m not aware that the older man was confrontational. If you are ‘aware’ of this, can you provide a source?

My very first thought when I heard Trump say Make America Great Again was that he was absolutely unqualified to be POTUS. And when he publicly invited Russia to hack his opponent’s emails, I could not believe that he wasnt immediately taken into custody for treason.

My ‘fevered’ mind welcomes a full diversity of opinions and thoughts. And apparel. I’m not the one seeking to outlaw other people’s political or religious expression or their clothing choices.

I hope one day to live in a world where all men can be seen as being able to be racists, not just whites.

After you watch that video, please think about how the media went after a white kid with a smirk on his face instead of screaming about the black Israelites.
The media only got involved because of a Twitter firestorm that started from a Twitter Troll that took the incident purposefully out of context. The media was responding to the strawman that people were getting riled up over. It was easy to get riled up over it as it did fit the narrative of Trump supporter being intolerant. That isn't what happened, and it took time to correct, time that should have been spent before the Washington Post reported on it to begin with. That was their mistake.

And also, no one takes black Israelites seriously. Their protestations are taken as seriously as Phelps' camp.

Funny stuff. You dismiss the black Israelites because "no one takes them seriously."

Yet, you do not have this view about white supremacists. You guys take them VERY seriously.

I realize history is not your metier, our history is replete with white supremacists having access and using power while the black Israelites do not. Moreover, white supremacists and white supremacists light (i.e. the alt-right) have an ally in our President at this time.

The white supremacist system that allows Asians to get educated and be successful making over 100k a year?

Please explain.

I need to be honest, to a non-white person, MAGA screams out white power good, minorities bad. 50 young white guys screaming MAGA staring down someone is intimidating. Did covenington kid deserve the media coverage - no. He should get an apology. But 250 million? You kidding me?

This not-white person is just amused by it.

It's rare for me to pull a race card on this forum. I've done well and I'm very grateful to be an American. However, there's no doubt that the doors that are currently open to me today would have been closed 40 years ago. And they were non-existent in the 1950's. So, I'm sorry, I do not think that America was great in the past. Far far from it. So yea, my first reaction when I someone with MAGA hat and smug grin is to knock him on his ass.

Agreed.
I’d like you to explain how that was a smile on that boy’s face.

FWIW, it’s not against the law in the US to be a racist or to be elected and to hold public office if you are a racist, or to tweet racist tweets even if you are the POTUS. It’s not even against the law to put white sheets on your head, arm yourself with semiautomatic weapons and to hold parades and rallies. The POTUS will publicly proclaim you to be a very fine person.

Now, apparently it’s not acceptable to a lot of white people to wear a hijab and burqas are definitely a threat to our democracy but foreign powers interfering in our elections is A-OK.

Nick Sandmann was standing there....with a facial expression....that looked more like a smirk or a half smile. But, 16 year old kids are awkward. As I stated, if a black man was in front of an Indian making that same exact face, the media would not have said one word about it. But, they did because he's white instead.

War on whites.

saying "make America great again" does not mean to go back to the past wholesale.

Funny how the I'm not a Trumpsuckers make that excuse, but cannot say quite when America was great, or what was so great about it that isn't great anymore.
Oh yeah - except the number of brown and black people as percentage of population, and getting their uppity butts into positions of power where they don't belong, right?

Yeah, see the twitter post I linked. :)

I did not refer to a "white supremacist system", but that white supremacists and now the alt-right have access to power and using it, and that is true in the past. It is recognition of what has happened in the past, and can still occur now.

So, the explanation is that, once again, you have constructed a straw man.

Now, can you offer a rational, reality-based credible explanation of our President's recent attacks on congresswomen of color, a city of color (Baltimore) and a congressman of color that does not include bigotry or racism?

He appears to be making a daring ploy to take another bite out of the black vote that traditionally belongs to the Democrats, meanwhile he's got everyone looking at this instead of his most recent victory.

I have been pointing out that cities run by Dems are usually crappy and underfunded. If Trump attacks people of color, he gets called a racist. Yet, when he attacked Hillary non-stop, no one accused him of being a self-hating white racist. Skin color was left out of it.

Very dishonest, don't you think? He can criticize white people without getting called a racist and a bigot, but he can't criticize people of color without being called a racist and a bigot.

Which cities, specifically? We know a lot about Republican run states and they are shitholes by all human measures: health, education, poverty, inequality, and more. So please show us the data regarding the cities you're talking about.

:rotfl: Yeah, because bigots can only be one kind of bigot. He's a bigoted lowlife asshole in every way. What a silly argument that his assholishness can't be criticized unless it targets people of color. Or whatever it is you think you're saying there. "He's also a lowlife asshole to white liberals, therefore, he's not a racist." :rotfl:

Why are we talking about cities, when the OP was about a teen that met up with a Native American, and the interaction was spun from a Twitter account out of Brazil pretending to be an American?

That is the real issue here... not this ridiculous derail.

I understand some Republican cities are poor. But, Trump is right. Elijah Cummings has been in power since 1996 and has done nothing to help Baltimore. It is a disgusting crime infested city, no doubt. Elijah also claims to support black lives matter and has done nothing to stop the crime or help the black youths stop turning to crime and gangs. Why can't he be criticized? Are we supposed to pander to him just because he's black and pat him on the head and say, "You're doing a great job!" like you're patronizing a 5 year old?

He tried, but when driving he saw a sign that said "Baltimore - Left"... and he went home.

Hey Halfie, if America is so disgusting to you, why don't you go back to where you came from?

... there are Republican Cities? Where?

Texas is Red, Austin is Blue (I've never seen a Red city, how about you?)

Cincinnati, Dallas (I think). That shithole of NYC was run by Republicans for a couple decades and it is the rare city where people are openly gay and closet Republicans.
