Credit Where Credit is Due: a shout out thread for Things Trump Did Right

(The Liberal Party is the conservative party in Australia).

Has the Trumpist Bullshit Machine tried to spin this?
"In Australia the Liberals -- the woke leftists, the Marxist fruitcakes -- lost the election bigly. Nobody's ever seen anything like it. The new Governor called me up to say 'Thank You' and to say that he wanted to be our 52nd state."

No, but he did do something equally Trumpy;

“I don’t know anything about the election other than the man that won. He’s very good.

Albanese I’m very friendly with,” he told The Sydney Morning Herald.

I have no idea who the other person is that ran against him … we have had a very good relationship.”

I can help Trump out here - he's the guy standing next to your future wife on the right back in 2020 and has supported Trump since 2017.

Yet another cautionary tale of what supporting Trump ultimately gets you.

RVonse believes what they want to be believe. They feign being open to ideas.

@RVonse -- I found a good mini-documentary on the Trump Administration. It's only 20 minutes; I hope you can watch it all the way through and offer your insights

Thanks in advance.
Thanks for sharing. I definitely believe his military parade to be a complete stupid waste of money. His picture of the pope and jed-i equally stupid. His comment with regard to the constitution does appear extremely wrong, that being said it was snipped from a conversation and we have no idea of context. His words were probably taken completely out of context and I have no way of knowing from your video.

Trump is far from perfect and I have never said otherwise.

I do still believe the success of Democrats should be more aggressive in providing their own solutions to real problems they pretend do not exist rather than beating a dead Trump horse who will be out of office in 3 years anyway. People want better lives, less fear, and someone who will lead the country to stability and prosperity. They don't need being scolded for voting for the wrong person even if he is a flop.

If Leeds win the Championship tonight, I might explode.

Leeds are currently down 1-0 from an own goal...
Since Leeds won. on goal differential, despite the own goal, you didn't explode?

How could the words mentioned in the bolded part be taken out of context? It is easy to find the complete interview. Earlier today I watched several videos on you tube that showed it. He clearly said the words, there is no ambiguity.
Your claim that "his words were probably taken completely out of context" is an attempt by you to justify his words and be an apologist for him.

We agree on SOMETHING! These truncated responses are always annoying. Taking phrases out of context is a Republican ploy; it's unfortunate when rational thinkers borrow that ploy. In defense of them, however, it's mostly the late-night comics who use the truncations for laugh. Don't Rachel Maddow et al usually give full context?

I think I linked to the wrong video anyway. Here's an unedited version of a few minutes from the interview. Begin at 2:05 to hear the question about upholding the Constitution. His "I don't know" is based on waiting for the "brilliant lawyers who work for [him]" to tell him the answer. A typical Trump cop-out, though satisfactory I'm sure for those looking for excuses to continue their ride on the Trump wagon.

Haven't we explained several times that Biden DID make huge progress? Trump rejects that progress while pursuing dump-pump schemes and personal grafts. He has a "zero-sum" point of view in which HURTING BOTH the US economy AND China's economy is GOOD as long as China's is hurt MORE. Does that approach suit you?

Yet you still believe he's going to do what he says.

Of course the Democrats have no plan to protect you from the bogeyman. And you're being blind if you think he'll be out in three years.

Sith. He portrayed himself as a Sith acolyte. No doubt because the red blades "look cooler". It tells you everything you need to know about him.
You mean that was real?? I figured it was a photoshop and never looked into it. And of course he picked red blades, can a sith handle a white lightsaber??

That's the best Pope I've ever seen. I bet he'll do things no other Pope ever did. 😆

Rereading my post it appears I didn't actually provide the link. Here it is.

While here I hope to get RVonse's reaction to UAE getting a visit from Der Orangefarbene Führer AND a key sanction lifted in return for buying $2,000,000,000 worth of Trump's crypto meme. Check all that apply:
  • UAE's wealth fund was probably dithering between putting its money into Apple stock or into Pfizer. They compromised by putting the money into a meme coin that by chance is controlled by the Trump family. No connection to the sudden EO favoring UAE. I don't see a problem.
  • Art of the Deal. Most brilliant Prez ever. Everybody says so.
  • Sure there was quid pro quo. But Volodymr Zelensky once bought a round of drinks for Hunter Biden in a Kyiv night club. Tit for tat.
  • Small price to pay for rescuing Greenland, Canada and the Gulf of America from the Islamo-Marxists.
  • Trump needs all the billions he can get to save America from the Demonrat cheating coming in 2026 and 2028.
  • It's all fake news.

Desi Lydic does a pretty good job of keeping us up-to-date with Trump's "thinking."

Last year I posted a story I copied from an amateur historian on another message-board. If even half of Marozia's story is true (is it?), it's an amazing story.

Marozia di Roma.
...
Marozia was lover, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother of popes. She forged an empire with little more than her wiles and her thighs, and her descendants would rule Rome for centuries, making and breaking popes, and influencing the politics and history of the Western world.

The debt death spiral has been looming far before the arrival of Trump. The debt interest that is so out of control it is more than the defense budget now. In the near future when our government has to borrow more money just to finance this debt interest the bond vigilantes will be officially of control. This is not an imagined trumped up Trump fear. It is horribly real.

The Democrats need to acknowledge reality and work to prevent this from happening. Not because they like Trump but because they like their country.

Bashing Trump and name calling solves nothing at all.

The debt death spiral has been looming far before the arrival of Trump.
When Clinton left office the deficit and debt were down and shrinking.
Then Bush II came along and slashed taxes on the rich. Trump continued the tradition of looting the country to benefit the rich. Now the debt is huge and the interest rate is skyrocketing. But just try to get the Republicans to support fiscal sanity, they won't.
