This strikes me as a strange point. I do not consider myself personally responsible for every action the federal government or some president takes, no. If it's actually my family that did something, that's another matter. But either way, as long as this democracy stands we have the right and the responsibility to celebrate the government when it does good and criticize it when it errs.

This is a fair point... but I'll also point out that a whole lot of people don't criticize the government when the government errs. They criticize their fellow citizens when their preferred party doesn't win out.

FWIW, I've seen far more blatant use of slurs by leftists than by rightists. In particular, I see hardcore progressive anti-racists use the N-word with abandon, under the pretence of putting those words into the mouth of someone they view as being right-wing (regardless of whether it's true). Over the past 20+ years of posting on various internet forums, I have yet to see an actual conservative use blatantly racist or sexist language ever... but I've seen such slurs posted by progressives many many times.

Sorry guys, but according to most of my female friends and my sister, as well as myself, one of the biggest reasons that Harris lost is because she is a female and not enough people in this country will vote for a female who is running for president.
