I think a large part of Trump's support comes from the Religious Right, which supports Trump because he has, and continues to, furthered their agenda to make this nation more dominated by religion. Christian Nationalists, Seven Mountain Mandate, and so forth.
Here's the big lie. Dems have good policies and people are too stupid to realize it. If voters were only smarter Dems would win. Condescending Barf.
Democrats aren't popular. And losing popularity with their own. Talk to my millenial kids who didn't vote for Trump. The issues important to them have never been addressed even when the Ds held all the power. Remember Biden had the house, senate, and a stack of EOs too.
They don't care for Trump and the Rs at all, but the Dems are right behind them. Look at moderates and other young voters and it gets worse.
The Dems need to stop lying to themselves, listen, and figure out to why their numbers are falling. Or keep losing. Unless the party's hope is the US crashes so they can rule over the ashes. It's more likely a young populist will rise from the left and destroy what's left of the Dem party if the US falters too far. The young people don't want the old D party any more than the MAGAs want the old R party.

I don't think it's a lie at all. The rejection of the Democratic Party of Obama and Biden is largely a result of ignorance, America's collective insanity and the dominance of fake news literally funded by evil billionaires.
Obama and Biden both gave big support to progressive pro-people programs. For example, Biden's CHIPS and Science Act was poised to do more for American industry than anything the Orange Cretin proposes (though he wants to destroy CHIPS and Science since it was enacted by "the enemy").
Pelosi and Biden are each very old, but they are true American heroes, among the best America has to offer. In saner days we'd soon have airports and ships named after them. But many Democrats know nothing about them except that they're "too old." There are also young Democrats, e.g AOC, who should inspire American youth.
True, the D's have failed to pass highly progressive social legislation -- (Is that your complaint ImGod?) -- But they have NEVER had a Congressional majority strong enough to act without GOP assistance. (John McCain's vote was needed just to save Obamacare from a lunatic repeal.) Speaking of Obamacare, the utter ignorance of Americans is demonstrated by the fact that millions of Americans HATE Obamacare but LOVE the Affordable (medical) Care Act (ACA). Spoiler alert: Obamacare and ACA are the same thing!
It takes 60 Senators to pass legislation but the Ds have NEVER had 60 for decades. They had to enlist the despicable DINO Joe Lieberman just to pass Obamacare: that's why Single-Payer couldn't pass. They had 60 very briefly counting the dying Ted Kennedy, but the Rs refused to split his vote. IIRC once he was wheeled from his death-bed onto the Senate floor for a critical vote.
The 60-vote Rule can be overturned with 50 votes. But Joe Manchin refused to be the 50th vote to overturn even on a law that would restore voting rights to blacks in corrupt states.
If American voters had the slightest clue they would aim their wrath at Manchin and Lieberman, and NOT at Democrats more generally.

Anyone who doesn’t realize that those numbers are direct evidence of the success of Trumputin propaganda, is themself a victim of that propaganda. They certainly are NOT reflective of any awareness of what either party stands for or actually does.
The Harvard/higher Ed debacle is a microcosm of the entire effort. Sell knowledge as a lib’rul Vice, and you get an electorate that is too ignorant and untrained in the practice of disciplined thought, to do anything but lap up the lies.
Selling lies is a “talent” honed over 7+ decades of Trump’s continuous practice. This is beyond dispute; his trail of victims can be traced with a solid thick line all the way back to the 80’s and before.
Anyone who believes that the numbers cited above are based on the realities of policies and performances of the two parties, is testifying to, and aiding and abetting, the resounding success of the tsunami of fascist propaganda and outright lies, in washing away the truth.
