There’s no indication or logical reason for a structured settlement. Fox can write a check tomorrow.

Fox still has to deal with Smartmatic, which is suing for $2+ billion, their own shareholders, who are suing for god knows how much, and anyone else who benefits from the info Dominion unlocked.

And Dominion is still going after the individuals they’ve filed against, with absolutely no reason to consider settling. They can bankrupt every one of the bastards with legal fees.

FOX screwed themselves by cheating on discovery in the Dominion lawsuit, and the damage claims by Smartmatic are justifiably ginormous; they’re a global Company with real - not projected - billions in business at risk from FOX lies. Not surprising that they are at least feigning eager compliance at this point.
 
While Fox nearly put themselves at default in Dominion, even without default, Fox's documents make the case very simple for defamation... a charge that is usually very hard to actually prove. These bonus documents just add gasoline to the bonfire. I'm not even certain why they are going to trial still.

They probably aren't.
All the cats are already out of their bags, now it's just a matter of finding out how low Smartmatic is willing to go without marcing them to tell their audience the truth about their election lies. That audience does NOT want to hear the truth, and if FOX tells the truth, they will leave en masse for OAN and NoozSmacks. That would probably cost FOX an eleven figure sum over a few years, so settling at the 2.7b asked would be a bargain, and anything lower is gravy.
 
A big problem here is Smartmatic has been vowing to make Faux admit irt knowingly peddled lies and apologize. But doing that would be throwing Carlson, Bartilomo, the Murdoch's and other Faux freaks under a legal steam roller. And don't think Smartmatic does't realize that. And Dominion in the recent past has hinted that they are not finished with all of this yet.

It's a long lever that Smartmatic is holding. All the lying bastards would turn on the Murdochs to save their own asses in a heartbeat if push came to shove. Surely that's not lost on Rupert and Lachlan. It will be VERY interesting to see if they make a full-price offer to keep that from happening.

It is a problem for al because this all establishesca paper trail. These Faux hosts knew it was all lies. There was no stolen election. The Murdochs knew it. Everybody at Faux knew. And there is such a mass of hard evidence that Smartmatic can demonstrate that with no room for error or excuse for any of this. And all of this can be subpeonaed in any and all further legal cases. From Smartmatic, Dominion, Eric Coomer or all others who might decide to sue. Maybe Abbey Groomberger for example.

Holding a contest challenging people to prove him wrong, then refusing to pay by claiming he held back the actual evidence, is enough to shoot down that argument. He did the same thing at his big “conference”.

Given everything,

Trump is lucky that other past Presidents don't feel inclined to be vindictive. Obama's case against Trump, over multiple issues(not the least of which is 'birtherism') is HUUUUUGE!

Luckily for Trump, Obama has got class and is above Trumpista bullshit.
