(CNN)Officials believe that a Christmas morning explosion in downtown Nashville that injured at least three people and damaged dozens of buildings was an intentional act.

In a brief news conference Friday morning, Metro Nashville Police spokesman Don Aaron said the department's hazardous devices unit was headed downtown in response to a call about a suspicious vehicle when there was a "significant" explosion linked to that vehicle around 6:30 a.m. CT.
"We do believe that the explosion was an intentional act," Aaron said.

Three people have been transported to hospitals from the scene, but none are in critical condition, according to Nashville Fire spokesman Joseph Pleasant.

Surely this is BLM or Antifa.

Very possible. After all, far-left extremists have been setting up bombs before. Remember Weather Underground, Black Liberation Army etc.?

Or maybe it's some Iraqi mad at the #BlackwaterLivesMatter pardons.

It could be anybody at this point.

A few conspicuous details are missing from the story. The police suspected a bomb before the explosion, so this RV parked on a Nashville street on Christmas morning did something to attract attention.

Car bombs are a great way to deliver more explosives than can be carried in a suitcase, but in the United States, it's the car and the paper trail it creates which leads police to the bomber.

If you have to go back sixty years, sure.

But which does it look more like? Timothy McVeigh or Al Sharpton?

Time will tell.
Unless, of course, Trump and his friends at the FBI and DoJ decide not to tell. If Trump supporters do what they do, post misinformation all over the media.

Well that depends on whether or not it was Cheech and Chong's old van or not...

Sharpton prefers to incite others to do his dirty work for him. Like Roland Smith.

Not to mention he's not too bright. I don't think he can even read the back of a kid's cereal box, much less read how to make a bomb. I don't have too much respict for him myself.

Yup, if you're going to do a car bomb better steal the car or purchase it with a fake identity.

Given what it actually did could a glazier be responsible? :):)

Timothy McVeigh was an out of control liberal

What in the world made him a liberal? He was in a far right militia, militant pro gun, very religious, constitutional, and etc. I can't think of anything that made him a liberal. (I apologize if your post was sarcastic).

It was sarcasm.

Stupid sarcasm. I never denied the possibility that it may be a rightist. But most people on here deny possibility that it may be a leftist.

We still don't know. Could be an Islamist too.

I agree that judgments are premature at this point.

One of the aspects that I am sure the detectives will check out is the question of if there is a disgruntled AT&T employee who got fired.

Not suggesting that is the answer, just an aspect to explore.
