Biden will not be there, but 48 percent of Democrats surveyed in the Reuters poll wish he were a candidate, compared with 30 percent who said he should stay out. Independents were split on the question, with 36 percent saying Biden should stay in and an equal share believing otherwise.

But support for Biden's entry into the race does not translate into equal passion for his candidacy. Just 17 percent of those surveyed said Biden would be their first choice, while 46 percent would back Clinton. Biden would also run behind Sanders, who remains the favorite of one fourth of Democrats surveyed.

Biden would be my #1 choice in a ranked vote ballot.

If he really wanted to run hed'd have announced ahead of tonight's debate.

Biden would be my #1 choice in a ranked vote ballot.
Mine would be Lincoln Chafee. About time we got serious about the metric system. This tragedy did not have to happen:

Jim Webb is also not bad.

I'm still hoping they can talk Mondale into it.

If it's old and white, it must be aright. - Democrats '16.

Does your country have a left wing Trump who can jump in and spice up the Democratic nomination? That race is boring and needs to up the batshit insane factor to make it more interesting.

I just don't think that Biden is crazy enough to do the job. Maybe if he has a brain aneurism which makes him think that CIA is out to get him and then doesn't listen to the people who tell him that the CIA actually reports up to him so he could call them off whenever he wanted to.

As an outsider looking in the candidates on offer are distressingly banal. No-one seems to have much common sense or real have any clue.

Also wondering why so many Bushes and Clinton's? Is the talent pool really that shallow?

The Americans decided that the British system, where one family passes down the crown from generation to generation, wasn't democratic enough; so they expanded the system to include half a dozen families.

After all, you wouldn't want executive power to go to just anybody, would you? Have you met 'the people'? Government of them, by them or for them would be horrible. Probably.

I wonder if that Howard Dean chap is available?

Never understood the Dean as crazy thing, but probably because I didn't hear much of what he actually said. Just that he gave an excited scream. A scream. A happy noise. So what?

Remember that in America, you basically need to take an entire year out of your life just to run for President. It's not like real countries where elections take a month or two and you can do your job and shit the rest of the time. That severely limits the available talent pool because not many normal people want to bother with that.

No we are not letting Randy Quaid have the Democratic nomination.

I subscribe to the theory that anyone who actually wants to run for President should be immediately dismissed from consideration for insanity and/or massive character flaws.

Since I am not alone in this, I suspect Biden getting 20% percent in the polls this time may have something to do with the fact it appears he is smart enough not to run. Historically when he actually does run he tends to max out around 2 or 3%.

I think it has to do with the idea of Biden being better than the reality of Biden. Many people want a viable alternative to Hillary Clinton and his potential for being one makes him an attractive choice while, at the same time, his not actually being a candidate means that he doesn't actually need to be considered on his own merits or anything like that.

Biden is playing the Rick Perry role. The difference is that Biden is smart enough to stay out of the race and also keep his mouth shut.

What do you find in this person who puts his foot in his mouth regularly and is just another money grubbing American politician that makes you want to have him leading us down the same path as our present leader? The question was put to Hillary who at least had the nerve to turn up at the first debate....

The quote might not be exact but the question has the same weight Cooper want Hillary to tell us how her presidency would differ from what we could expect from an Obama third term. She stammered till they decided to move on. This man has been caught plagerizing other politicians sometimes from more than 100 years in the past. He is just another fully sponsored political hack of the lowest order.

No. But there's a Mayor up in Toronto republicans are salivating over.

Biden's machine is promoting him...kind of a submarine promotion....out of the spotlight so he doesn't have to promise anything to the people. Actually he was avoiding the question Anderson Cooper put to Hillary. (About just being similar to a third term of Obama.) You offend the American people by even suggesting that Trump has a chance. If he does, we are in deep poo poo!:hitsthefan:

Fuck Biden.

What exactly has he ever done? Getting elected doesn't count as anything.

When has he ever expressed a coherent idea?
