An apt analogy I heard about this is if you were a basketball team based out of Chicago and suddenly decided to confine yourself to players born in Chicago, rather than the entire world. Inevitably, you would miss out on a lot of talent that could contribute to your team.

In the same way, fewer students coming to the states means fewer skilled people contributing to your economy as well as starting businesses and creating more jobs.

You know which countries have a really hard time attracting talent? Those in Africa. They're mostly not doing well. People not coming to your country is a sign that you're doing something horribly wrong.
