Fuck CBS. They bow to trump

Jimmy Kimmel's show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, will return to the airwaves Tuesday (September 23) night after it was suspended "indefinitely" last week, the Walt Disney Company, ABC’s parent company, announced in a statement obtained by the New York Times on Monday (September 22).

Not returning to Sinclair or Nextstar to whatever extend that may harm the show going forward.
I can't imagine that'd last long. Advertising is going to want money back. It isn't like Sinclair can afford to lose any more revenue.
Sinclair is a propaganda tool/outlet, owned by major Right wing donors, so I don't think they worry too much about what will be a minor loss of income due to one show.

You know, I'm kind of curious about the persona change in RVonse. He oddly went from outsider CT'ist to incel supporter like a flick of the switch and is now droning on about decency in programming to justify censorship? He went from fearing Government tyranny to full throated support of it.
It's because I look at what either political side does with a high degree of skepticism. Both sides being highly corrupt at this point, I simply don't accept much of anything they claim. That makes me an atheist to either party at this point, right or left.

So in your eyes I do probably look nuts since I'm not tied to a party. But that will be my price for searching what is true and right.
Yeah, that didn't address what I said at all. I have a pretty good understanding of your positions, or at least I thought I had. Your incel posts were out of character, shall we say. And I don't recall you ever going on about decency in programming either.

It'd be like laughing dog all of a sudden posting about how there are no specific laws that mean you have to pay income tax or Loren posting on about how it is reparations for blacks or he isn't going quietly.

Both Kimmel and Carson were employed by CBS. For better or worse the FCC regulated and still regulates CBS to make sure they are a public service good. The bar is much lower for Fox news or even CNN because they are not viewed to going over public airways by the FCC.

So if you want to be a comedian who is constantly grinding the ax for one party I would not pick a public network like ABS, CBS, or NBC that in the past was closely regulated by the FCC. I would continue to grind away on a cable network instead. Because like it or not, you are not providing a public good if you are making fun of half the public population.
Censorship bullshit. You love censorship. Only when it happens to your tribe's benefit.
Right. I didn't know the First Amendment came to a screeching halt if someone promoted beliefs (in this case, satire) that was distasteful to a segment of the public. Actually I thought that was what the First Amendment was for. I guess Trump is schooling all of us on the American tradition and our legacy of always pleasing monarchs.
The problem is that reality itself has a bias towards pro-social beliefs and behaviors, and these comedians are engaging in their political comedy because of the tragic failure of powerful interests to engage in pro-social behavior, but rather directly mal-social behavior

Dod he or did he not participate in the barking on the Fox News lawsuit thread when they declared in court that they weren't a news show but an entertainment show, and this shouldn't be taken at their word for anything, nor expected to be honest in any way?

They essentially argued that they were as honest as The Onion, and won. So what did he have to say back then? Or was he frighteningly quiet?

What if people boycott all Sinclair's ABC stations. Just like they did with Disney. If eyes aren't watching they don't sell advertising.

Carr hinted at further actions against media companies on Thursday, telling CNBC that “we’re not done yet” as President Donald Trump urged NBC to take similar action against two other late-night comedians who have criticized him. That’s complicated things in Washington for a GOP that built itself up to be a champion and protector of free speech.

In fact, some Republicans who consider themselves defenders of unfettered speech are getting more comfortable with limiting it. Sen. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo., told Semafor that “an FCC license, it’s not a right. It really is a privilege.”

“Under normal times, in normal circumstances, I tend to think that the First Amendment should always be sort of the ultimate right. And that there should be almost no checks and balances on it. I don’t feel that way anymore,” Lummis added.

“I feel like something’s changed culturally. And I think that there needs to be some cognizance that things have changed,” she added. “We just can’t let people call each other those kinds of insane things and then be surprised when politicians get shot and the death threats they are receiving and then trying to get extra money for security.”

Drop cable all together and stream directly. Steaming probably affected Disney’s calculation.

I'm thinking it was probably lawyers / agent as in Kimmel's, whatever is in his contract, and the issue of who do we replace him with? Adam Carolla? Gosh I remember when they did The Man Show on Comedy Central... so long ago... or Kimmel on Take Ben Stein's Money... on Comedy Central. Kimmel put in a lot of effort to get here.

Ben Stein. OMG what a sleazebag.

You know why he was quiet. And you know why. It's pathetic, but depressingly obvious.

You say that but you consistently accept the descriptions of "reality" from the right. If you accept lies as "facts" you can be lead to extremely false conclusions.
