He had tweeted from the scene, "Bus coming in. This is not compassion. This is the abrogation of the rule of law." He included a photo of the back of a yellow school bus.
Kwasman later told me he saw the migrant children. "I was actually able to see some of the children in the buses. The fear on their faces.... This is not compassion," he said.

But there was a problem with Kwasman's story: There was no fear on their faces. Those weren't the migrant children in the school bus. Those were children from the Marana school district. They were heading to the YMCA's Triangle Y Camp, not far from the Rite of Passage shelter for the migrants, at the base of Mt. Lemmon.

12 News reporter Will Pitts, who is at the protest scene, says he saw the children laughing and taking pictures of the media. "I had to break it to Kwasman that those weren't migrant children. Kwasman later deleted the tweet. He did back flips trying to take back the story he told me".

What has happened to this country? There seems to be way too much overreaction to stuff these days.

Over-reaction? What about reaction at all? Guy sees a bus with kids and flips off the handles. The right-wing are becoming partisan zombies.

Any reaction in that situation was an over-reaction. What is ever more outrageous is that alleged human being was proud of terrifying children on a bus.

Why? We have an invasion of tens of thousands of illegals streaming in from Central America through Mexico and they are being moved and housed in US cities, given free healthcare and education, instead of being deported where they came from.

If we could get them all to stop off in Cuba for a few days before entering the US, all would be fine.

Straits of Florida is a bit larger natural barrier than the Rio Grande resulting in far smaller numbers.

Not to mention that if these 50,000 or so illegals get accepted it will only incentivize hundreds of thousands more to do likewise. It's not a sustainable solution.

Of course, the democrats only think how all these illegals will all make good, reliable D voters once given amnesty.

Yes, all brown people are illegals, and it is all a Democratic plot to increase the Democratic vote.
It has nothing to due with Republicans being asshats to minorities.

Why?
Because the children were Americans. Maybe you missed that part. The part about the children being Americans. The children being Americans would be a very important part as to explaining why this guy went overboard by having a reaction at all, forget his over-reaction.
We have an invasion of tens of thousands of illegals streaming in from Central America...
An invasion? Tens of thousands over a long period of time. While an issue that needs to be addressed, an "invasion"? At least you didn't call it a "crisis" like the media portrays it. Jordan must think such descriptions are funny... a "crisis", while their Syrian refugee camps are overcrowded and disease can be a serious issue. People in the US are complaining about the kids not being shot through a cannon back to where they came from because they are receiving housing, health care, and apparently education. God... living in a First World nation is just hell if we do that for children and teens (an amount that is about 0.015% of our national population) who came to America illegally. Poor America!
If we could get them all to stop off in Cuba for a few days before entering the US, all would be fine.

Don't need them, and it is pathetic that you make that claim to begin with. The Republicans have done a great job at alienating the Hispanic vote in the US. Those 50,000 children won't be required as the Hispanics may start voting Democrat at rates like African Americans, which will be a much larger electoral windfall.

It was a busload of children. Your emotive rhetoric cannot hide the lack of content in your post. Children from countries not contiguous to the US cannot be deported (Dubya signed that law into effect). If this person thought these were undocumented aliens secretly being bussed into the US, he could have called the INS or the police. Instead, he brags about the "fear" on their faces. And "fear" from what? Dozens of so-called adults acting like selfish douchebags, raging ignoramuses, or racist assholes?

All valid points, but when Cubans tie a couple hundred innertubes to a Chevy truck and try to float to Key West, the GOP hails them as heros.

I have noticed that lately the conservative line on Cubans has shifted to claim they tend to vote Democrat whenever someone points out how eagerly Cuban immigrants were welcomed, in sharp contrast to the Continental Latinos.

When you look at the things the government currently does to extract money and power from poor and middle class. When you see the crooked shit they pull all the time favoring corporate donors to get elected and to get that sweet revolving door candy.

This is the reason I am skeptical about the reason that this immigration is being allowed to happen with the economy sputtering like it is now. This immigration is what the Chamber of Commerce and the real estate sector want.

Lower wages for immigrants. An employers market. More housing starts.

Be compassionate about these immigrants but look at the larger game being played.

The problem is they are letting in immigrants who are too young to carry an extension ladder.

Best comment I've heard on this topic (paraphrased as I don't have the exact quote): "If they were coming in from Canada, not one of those anti-immigration protestors who care"

Again, the politician in question was over-reacting because the kids on the bus were Americans going to a fucking YMCA camp.

They weren't illegal immigrants at all, and in case you missed it the primary means of transporting large numbers of American kids back and forth is to use buses. As such, it is the height of fucking idiocy to assume that kids on a bus are automatically illegal immigrants.

But rather than call the politician in question a fucking idiot (which he clearly is), you've actually decided to defend his fucking idiocy.

And a response from the so called "greatest nation" to the current humanitarian crisis reflecting a majority of children seeking shelter and safety in the US as they all come from shitholes like El Salvador and Honduras is to deport them where they came from?

To note of course the inconsistency among so many GOP political mouthpieces who have never hesitated to infuse their religious piety into their motivations to push for one legislation or the other and are now portraying those kids as "invaders" while their protesting supporters are seen throughout media reports holding signs mentioning "diseases"....oh this is the most appropriate time to challenge them with "WWJD", the very Jesus they all claim to follow.

All of that while another GOP moron took the angle of,

http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/gop-making-alarmist-claims-against-migrant-children

inducing panic and paranoia with the outrageous claim of a threat of Ebola.

Mind you we are in 2014 and in a nation which claims to lead the First World. Yet we are reminded today that there are some Americans who still stagnate in ignorance and prejudice as they are "bed companions". And those Americans can so easily be manipulated by the GOP because they are so ignorant.

But isn't claiming that America leads the First World kind of like claiming that Donald Trump is the leading New York businessman? It might have once been true and he's still rich and powerful enough to wield a lot of influence, but most of the people he claims to lead pretty much just see him as a crazy old guy standing on the corner yelling at a stop sign.
