And you don’t know that there was.
And you don't know that there wasn't.
There was certainly a high likelihood of a qpq.
It’s a sexist assumption for reasons given above — the implication that women, and especially women of color, need patriarchal assistance to get ahead because they haven’t the chops to do it on their own, whereas Harris clearly does have the chops.
I never said that she doesn't have the chops. Or that I am assuming that all women (and women of so-called "color") do not have chops.
But that does not preclude wanting to take shortcuts either.
Look, I wanted to like KH. She has had a lot of potential. She is a smart woman. Her background and family could have made her a uniter, something we very much need.
Unfortunately, she is not a wise one. Her sense of judgment is lacking. I first soured on her when she sponsored that FOSTA/SESTA monstrosity. She also chose to divide on race, rather than unite. She lost a lot of points when she attacked Biden on 1970s busing, which was a stupid policy. She also claimed that Michael Brown was "murdered" even though, as a prosecutor, she must have known better. She even jumped on the Juicy Smollet bandwagon.
And her Willie Brown affair shows that her penchant for bad judgment goes way back.
Yeah, it doesn’t quack like a duck, either. Exaclty what quid pro quo do you imagine was effectuated here? Besides, as noted earlier, if Brown somehow helped her with her career, so what?
The idea is that she likely entered the relationship solely or primarily because of the benefits a powerful politician like Brown could provide her.
w you are adding ageism onto sexism. Lots of younger women date older men. Lots of younger men date older women. Lots of younger guys date older guys. And?
There are degrees of age difference. I looked it up. He was 60, she was 29, less than half his age.
Relationships with such a severe age difference (well outside the unofficial
half your age plus seven rule) are rare without there being some sort of other benefit - money, K1 visa, or, as in this case, political patronage.
And that goes both ways. If, say, Cynthia Lummis started dating a young buck of 29 with political aspirations, that'd probably be a quid pro quo too. Nothing sexist about my assessment here.
You do not see her being attracted to Willie Brown[/I]? Who the hell are you to decide who Kamala Harris is or is not attracted to, or should or should not be attracted to? What sexist, arrogant, patriarchal bullshit!
I am not deciding who she is attracted to. I am saying it is unlikely that she was genuinely attracted to him given the severe age difference and the fact that he did help her get her start in politics. It's just reality of human nature, not "sexist, arrogant, patriarchal bullshit".
Next thing you'll be telling us Anna Nicole was really attracted to this guy.
And if we doubt it, we must be sexist, arrogant and patriarchal ...
