Merged Greenland is part of NATO via Denmark

Trump controlled corporation just illegally shipped over a dozen shipping containers of drilling equipment and supplies to Greenland. Another larger shipment is on the way.

But have they found anything?

It looks to me Trump is trying to find a valuable Greenland resource he can use to negotiate with the Greenlandish parliament in order to gain control over Greenland. All of Greenland is 30 000 people. With plenty of old resentments against Denmark Trump can exploit. 30 000 people can be bought for cheap.

It all just seems to fit how Trump operates

He's not going to be able to take Greenland by force. That only leaves... negotiate.

He could do an occupation with very little violence, he could bribe the head politicians, or he could just send in specialists to mine resources under cover of regular troop deployment.

Greenland is not a third world country. Trust me.... under no circumstances will you be able to bribe a Greenlander to do anything not in the interest of all Greenlanders. It's not the culture. There's no way that will happen. It might be the one country on Earth where politicians are honest and take reasonable salaries.

But what could work is if Trump bribes every single Greenlander. They won't see that as bribery. And the Greenlandish parliament is indipendent. If they are given enough money, that's a possibility. And with so few Greenlanders, it won't even be expensive for USA. Greenlanders don't feel especially loyal to Denmark. Denmark has been a problematic overlord in the past. That's what I would do if I was Trump.

That's absolutely a possibility. That sounds like the smart move, so probably what Trump will do.

Seems he sent folks in without so much as a by your leave. I see no reason why this rude bully would not simply continue with this same approach until such time as congress stops him. The Texas company who went in, hiring private security (aka mercenaries) would likely be all that is needed to keep the locals at bay. I suppose a US court might, might intervene but I believe their authority on presidential actions outside the US is very limited. Perhaps they would have more latitude acting against the private company hired.

Or this is just another of Trump's endless stream of distractions from his involvement with Epstein.

Funniest thing I have read in the internet in a while.
The last time that Trump did the smart thing was back in...

Er...

Actually, I'm going to have to get back to you on that one. Please talk amongst yourselves...

You're actually excusing this bullshit???

There are (per AI) some 56,500 people in Greenland. For the cost of a month or two of his Iran adventure, Trump could give every single resident of Greenland a million dollars.
I bet they’d sell, but they might not take faltering US dollars …

There's no evidence this is about oil or mineral rights at all.

There seems to be seem misinformation about what's happening in Greenland:

Did Trump-linked oil company set up drilling operation in Greenland without permission?

The story is a little convoluted and complex, but...

Bottom line

All in all, it was true that in late July 2026, equipment connected to the Jameson Land oil project was moved without the required authorization, and Greenland's government issued a warning over it. The company also had some indirect connections to Trump and his administration. However, as of this writing, it had not yet started drilling. Also, Trump does not own the company, and we found no evidence that he directly instructed it to carry out its activities in Greenland. The project itself is based on legally valid exploration licenses, although separate activities still need approval.

Trump... negotiate?

He's not going to be able to take Greenland by force. That only leaves... negotiate.
Trump doesn't know how to negotiate. His "art of the deal" schtick is more about using leverage and lawyers to screw over people. The idiot can't negotiate.

So he is better off with the "with force" option because at least the US has (had?) a military that can do that.

Misinformation in the sense of everything in Ziprhead's post is accurate.

Ziprhead did not say drilling operations were set up. His post says "illegal shipped over a dozen shipping containers".

No, its not a "Trump controlled corporation" as Ziprhead says. Per Snopes...

We found no evidence that Trump owns, controls or has directly invested in the company. Therefore, calling Greenland Energy "Trump's oil company" is unsupported. The "Trump-linked" description appears to come mainly from connections between people involved with the company and Trump or his administration.

A Texas-based company with links to President Donald Trump has delayed plans to drill for oil in Greenland, after the Arctic island’s government issued a “strong warning” to its joint venture partner for bringing equipment ashore without permission.

Greenland Energy Co., a Nasdaq-listed oil and gas exploration firm, said Wednesday that it was now working toward a targeted permit timeline for winter 2027, delaying its plans to try to unlock the hydrocarbon potential of the Jameson Land Basin on Greenland’s east coast.
Yeah, Trump had nothing to do with it. Just a coincidence. Nothing to see here.

From TheBeaves link:
What's Undetermined
It remains unclear whether or to what extent Trump or members of his administration had any direct contact with the company about its activities in Greenland.

Or to simplify it for Trump
Put a 110% tariff on the equipment.
Tom
Who would pay that? On what? The equipment? The oil? Can they put a tariff on an export? (chances are Rump doesn't know anyway)
His "art of the deal" schtick is more about using leverage and lawyers to screw over people.
I read 'The Fart Of The Deal' so you don't have to.*
Nothing worth repeating here. But... He doesn't know he lies. He sees his lies as just hyping/promoting. Very innocent and justified cus he's entitled.

*I didn't pay for it, I borrowed it from the library.

I missed the word "controlled". That isn't accurate. However, the rest is.

So Trump says that the US and Denmark have come to an agreement that the US can beef up military presence in Greenland for defense of Greenland and North America.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Friday he has a deal with Denmark to bolster the U.S. military presence in Greenland after months of threatening to take island by force from the NATO ally.

Trump in a social media post announcing the deal said the agreement “gives the United States permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland, completely addressing ALL of our many U.S. concerns.”

So how is this any different than the 1951 treaty between the US and Denmark that allowed the US a pretty much free hand to put defensive military assets in Greenland to defend Greenland and North America?

What does "..and all other needs" mean?

Does it include using specialists to seek out rare earth minerals? Oil?

No new taxes? Abortions? Free ponies?
