Ocasio-Cortez Goes Hard On Fox News After Segment On Her Shoes
On Friday, as news of Trump’s attempted abuse of power when demanding that the U.S. Justice Department investigate his political enemies, Hillary Clinton and James Comey, as well as news about Trump’s recent attacks on the federal judicial system, Fox News had a four-person panel to discuss the real issues, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s shoes.
She responded in a Tweet: "No, no es amor / Lo que tú sientes, se llama obsesión"

Google Translate: "No, it's not love / What you feel is called obsession"
Bing Translator: "No, it's not love / What you feel, it's called Obsession"

When someone joked that Fox News would need to hire a translator, she responded
Don’t worry, Fox News has made it clear that they are far superior to + more intelligent than me, who they’ve called a “little, simple person.” So I’m sure catching up to me in spoken languages shouldn’t be a problem for them.

One down. Just a few more to go! :D
Fox News has covered her housing problems and her clothes rather extensively.

This should not be surprising. This is what their viewers want. This is why people watch Fox News.

I always wonder what it’s like for the people working at Fox. I mean, I assume they went to journalism school and wanted to be reporters and the like, but then they started working at Fox.

She has wit and sharp tongue, grace, and apparently enjoys embarrassing the yahoos. She is going to be a star in the House of Representitives. She is going to be fun to watch.

What's wrong with her shoes?
Oh I see, rookie mistake on her part, she bought shoes which were not intended for a heavy walking.

She also seems more good-natured than the Tweeter in Chief. At least to me.

I don't use Twitter or FB and I don't watch television news shows and I'm very selective with what I read. I do see however how these social media gadgets are vital to politicians these days. I'm hopeful that Ocasio-Cortez gets the same level of support on them as Trump gets from his base. Not to trump Trump, but to send the message to the democratic party that the issues she ran on and is still openly supporting are worth their support as well. Because that's what will trump Trump. She comes with ideas, not vitriol.

Ocasio-Cortez ran as a Democrat for the same reason Trump ran as a Republican - because you have to choose one of the two. She's not, AFAICT, a neoliberal, like most Democrats these days. So it will indeed be interesting to see how far she will be allowed to wonder off and for how long before the Democratic elites decide to try and shut her up. Which they will if and when she gets up the noses of the corporate supporters of the DNC. You think FOX news' allegations of hypocracy are tough? Just wait untill the Dems decide to take up the same criticism. We ain't seen nothing yet. Don't forget what the Democratic elites under Harry Reid did to Alan Grayson.

Go ahead and make fun of her shoes, conservatives. That doesn't make you guys sound elitist at all.

Some of my favorite stuff:

I've been wearing my Sorel slippers for about 5 years, inside and outside. The soles wore through about three years ago, but the uppers are just fine. The soles are now roughly 75% Shoe Goo, and they're just as good as (and more waterproof than) ever.

She represents everything that right wing authoritarian cowards and fear mongers are most afraid of.

I wish she'd just ignore them. Carefully pick her battles at least. Constant bickering with right wing nutjobs can only be bad for everyone involved except for the nut jobs, who are happy to bring anyone down to their stupidest common denominator level.
