Here Comes The Left

I found this comment by an Australian named David Abbruzzese to be a very eloquent.
Not the American drummer? Also, where link?
Why? Do you think I made it up? You may not have noticed, but you haven't disputed anything he said.

I'll take it that you concede it all to be true.

Everything depends on the definition, Does someone who sleeps in their car count? According to this site https://usafacts.org/articles/which-cities-in-the-us-have-the-most-homelessness/ which says they got the number from HUD, there are 745,652 homeless people.

It took me about 10 seconds to find this source. I'm sure there are others.

And according to this, there are about ~122k homeless in Australia. That translates to 217 per 100,000 for the US and 436 per 100,000 for Australia. So either the Australian definition is far more expansive than the US one, or Australia has a much bigger homelessness problem.
Is that the best you can do? Sounds like David the Australian hit a nerve. At least enough for you to research Australia.

As usual, when you try to make a point, it has no relevance. Stating an unrelated fact does not make a coherent response.

Or the systems in place in the two countries encourage homeless Australians to be counted, and/or discourage homeless Americans from being counted.

If you expect any interaction with government to be a net positive, you will make sure you are known to them; If you expect it to be a net negative, you will do your best to hide.

Y'all make is sound like socialism would be worse than what we have right now.
What socialist countries, past or present, would you say is/was better off than the US with regard to the economy, freedom, opportunities and human rights then ours right now?
Canada.

Nope not Canada because [insert bunch of bullshit reasons why Canada doesn't count].
Sorry for derail, but there are some very formidable Canadian companies in my industry. They are very good competitors. I wish I were competing against government owned companies!

Happy 4th of July from Avila Chevalier and the DSA!

Meanwhile this curiously flies under Derec's radar;

Patriot Front was founded in 2017 by Thomas Ryan Rousseau, who split from the alt-right organization Vanguard America in the aftermath of the deadly Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Patriot Front’s website describes the group as a “fraternal, nationalist, activist organization” and writes that “Our people, born to this nation of our European race, must reforge themselves as a new collective capable of asserting our right to cultural independence.”

No surprise there.
No surprise that I do not find an article whose sole purpose is to run interference for a DSA candidate who explicitly expressed Marxist ideas particularly persuasive?
You speak truth for once. There is definitely nothing surprising that I don't fall for such blatant propaganda.

Meanwhile this curiously flies under Derec's radar;
This thread is about the left wing. And instead of expressing any opinion about Comrade Avila's hatred of America, you deflect with a whataboutism.
And besides, your whataboutism is about some rally, while Chevalier is a shoo-in to become a member of Congress.
Lastly, there are quite a few people on this forum who will defend her and DSA creeps like her, which makes it a much more fruitful topic of discussion than some rally hardly anyone here defends.

Canada doesn't count because it is not socialist. Try to keep up.

I think this was written by Democratic Socialists because of language like "private owners who appropriate for themselves the wealth generated by the labor of others" and such. Nevertheless, it's a good way to show distinctions between the two systems.
Democratic Socialists know who they are. Why do you and your Ilk keep denying it?

Or the systems in place in the two countries encourage homeless Australians to be counted, and/or discourage homeless Americans from being counted.
Perhaps. As I said, international comparisons of variables such as this can be difficult. But why is it ok to acknowledge this for Australian homelessness, but not for, say, Cuban infant mortality?

I must have missed where Cuba is a democratic socialist nation. Also, no one here defends Cuba. Another incredible delusional post from Derec.

Not necessarily made it up, but I noticed no link to the source. And when I tried googling David Abbruzzese, all I got was the former Pearl Jam drummer.

Who is, I surely don't have to tell you, not an Australian.
You may not have noticed, but you haven't disputed anything he said.
I realized that it made too many claims for me to be able to go through one by one at this time. Especially since it requires hunting down stats, since he - whoever he may be - provided no references.
I'll take it that you concede it all to be true.
Far from it! Things are far more complex and nuanced than this elusive David portrays for sure.
Is that the best you can do? Sounds like David the Australian hit a nerve. At least enough for you to research Australia.
Not necessarily the best, but that was a claim that was already tackled, so why not join in? As I said, your David from Down Under made so many unsourced claims.
As usual, when you try to make a point, it has no relevance. Stating an unrelated fact does not make a coherent response.
Why do you say it has no relevance? Dave claims US is bad because we have so many homeless. According to stats, Australia has more than twice the homeless rate than the US. I think that is highly relevant to the "US is bad, mkay" polemic he was spouting. Whoever he is.

Not democratic, but definitely socialist. That's the same economic system advocated for by Mamdani and the DSA, even if they do not advocate for the same political system. However, ...
Also, no one here defends Cuba. Another incredible delusional post from Derec.
... what you definitely missed is that the subdiscussion I was replying to was started by a post by Bronzage where he posted a screed by an alleged Australian. In it, he compares US and Cuban infant mortalities.
Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's.
When replying to someone, it is good form to figure out what they are replying to.

"Good form" says the person who accuses anyone who doesn't support Israel of being an anti-semite. [removed]

You equated ONE tweet from ONE person in the context of the 4th of July that everyone in the DSA feels the same way. I was pointing out a more problematic organisation doing far worse for the same holiday you were describing.

And considering it wasn't an obscure example from the 1970s about some black guy committing a crime, I shudder to think how much window cleaner you must buy every week for that glass house you're living in whilst claiming I'm engaging in whataboutism.
