Hillary Can't Win

I've already heard negative ads directed at Hillary here, from some group called "Future 45". CNN says they're of Republican origin. If Bernie were in the lead there would likely be ads against him; they'd just attack him differently.

I have seen a few positive ads from Bernie Sanders & Hillary Clinton here as well.
Odd goodness, you poor thing. Florida. One of the only states worse to live in than Ohio during an election year. There should be a support group.

Yeah, definitely. Not to mention being in the I-4 corridor as well.

The weather in Florida this time of year is the best in the country, but please, keep thinking it is hell to live here.

Naw. Hillary Clinton is like the Denver Broncos. Not much in the way of any offense, but stout enough defensively to keep the other team from winning.

It isn't about her, or her composure. She could be the second coming of Christ and the republicans would cruxify her over herhaphazard voting record, her pending investigations, and her lack of experience. The PERSON of Hillary Clinton doesn't matter against the reality that the republicans have had 8 years to build an attack strategy, and it doesn't help her one bit that she made it easy for them.

All it takes is one 'flip flopper' or 'unprincipled' or 'bungler' or some other successful viral smear to sink her, mostly because she has a long history of all those and more.

No, the GOP has had some 25 years to sink her with everything from straight out made up shit to the exaggeration and gross mischaracterization of Whatever, to the occasionally plausible minor misdeed.

So either Hillary really isn't that guilty of anything or the GOP has the most incompetent ongoing legal team for the last quarter century. Either way, the GOP is fucked.

I was referring to the election ads on television and radio, and presumably in social media as well. But if you want to mention that you need to have the AC full bore in the car when driving in May to keep yourself from melting in the searing heat....

Tourism to Florida in May is still pretty good despite the need for air conditioning. Something it seems we have mastered.

Here it is, Super Tuesday, and Predictit (the most reliable prognostication machine in existence) has Hillary's stock up dramatically today... not good news for anyone but Hillary. I foresee 8 more years of the same shit. Bernie is toast, barring some miracle or plane crash.

If Trump becomes the GOP nominee, will Republican hawks back Hillary?

Observers left and right have noted that Hillary Clinton is in many ways the foreign policy mirror image of Bush-Cheney.

This should give Democrats pause.

But perhaps most concerning is the alleged foreign policy “experts” in the Republican Party seem to reject Trump not because of his reckless rhetoric, but because he doesn’t seem quite reckless enough in the ways that hawks’ prefer.

Technically this is good news for Hillary, she gets the Neocon vote and gets the Neocons to return to their party of origin.

Also, technically, this should cause Democrats to rethink their support of Hillary, although it won't.

I'd reconsider, however, if Trump is the nominee, not only is he terribly unqualified, but he is an absolute wildcard.

Hillary isn't exciting and she isn't the current progressive wet dream that Bernie is, but Bernie wouldn't be able to do any of the things he's claiming he would do anyway. She'll actually be able to put down some of the tracks necessary to do more progressive things in the future. In the U.S., the center usually holds and this year it won't be any different. The issue isn't whether left or right will win, it's which way the center will move incrementally. And Hillary can move it incrementally left. That's as good as it's going to get.

If the Dems take Congress back and Hillary wins, then she'll be able to get some things done until the Dems get voted out again two years later by outraged conservative fuckwits who by that time will likely have gotten their Constitutional rights shored up by a left leaning SCOTUS, but who will think tyranny is at their doorstep.

Yes I see it now.

Bernie: "We have to stop starting wars all over the world."

Trump: "You're an old socialist."

Millions cheer.
It'd be a step up from the Republican debates.
Trump: Cruz, go fuck yourself.
Cruz: No, fuck you!
Rubio: You both can go fuck off!
Carson: I'm so hungry I could fuck a fruit salad.

LOL...

So even having Neocons openly support Hillary isn't enough for people to think twice about her.

Wow.

They said the same thing about Obama. Rush Limbaugh practically had an orgasm when Obama started rising in the polls.

There are always candidates that the opposing side thinks is going to be a disaster and so wants to see them put up.

I want Trump to get the GOP nomination. That says nothing other than I think it'll get the Democrats the White House again.

Ahhhh...but she has not met the Trumpinator. Seriously, there was a time I thought Trump did not have a wisp of chance - now I am not so sure. Trumpolini plays the role of a charismatic "strongman" nationalist better than anyone. Rather than apologizing for his wealth or behavior, he makes it his selling point - he presents himself as a modern "Captain of Industry", a heroic man who moves mountains and transforms cities...and, on the way, seduces a gaggle of pretty women.

Romney played within the modern cultural norms; the presumption being that white, rich, and male are triple sins that required him to show he was not guilty of all sorts of stereotyped sins. As such, if he was a bully in high school, or outsourced a job, or couldn't show that he had a binder full of jobs for women - gasp, the man is cretin. (To say nothing of what would have happened if he had spoken ill of a minority).

He accepted the modern moral ideal (often termed PC) of sensitive beta males berated and nuetered by alpha females and minorities. He conveyed weakness. And when caught insulting the 47 percent of the takers...he was doomed and apologetic.

Trump could never win with those rules. So he ignores man-made social convention and appeals to our human nature. He becomes the male patriarch, the the man of attainment and high status, the all-knowing man who makes his own destiny and remakes the world in his image. He will proudly say what he likes. And in doing so, millions follow our biological nature and respond to his arrogance and dominance as "high ranked".

And millions (not just lumpen proles) cannot help themselves and become memorized by someone who flaunts his wealth, his ignorance, his nasty 6th grade name-calling, and his comic timing into one message: I will takeover as your leader.

With a little message tweaking - I have little doubt he could win.

Are you going to vote for him?

It may surprise you - no. The man is an embarrassment. I won't vote for any Presidential candidate. And on election night I will be rooting for both to lose, so I am sure to be 1/2 disappointed.

Even though I will have to hold my nose I will vote for Hillary, if she wins, based only on likely Supreme Court nominations.

She, like Obama, is a corporate sell out.

Obama sold his health plan on the public option. Then gave it up without a fight to spare insurance corporations from real competition.

You should vote. He is more than an embarrassment, he is a danger. Would President Trump act on the advice of the smart people we hope he would surround himself with or would he act on instinct? He can have a profound affect on the world and only the US voter can stop him. Someone else must win.

Clinton's negatives outweigh her positives while Bernie's positives outweigh his negatives.

You say Bernie has never withstood such an incredible attack.

The American people have not in a long time been given a choice like Bernie.

I completely agree with you (which is why I am voting for him in the primaries), but should Clinton get the nomination - and I expect she will - I will be voting for her in the general.

Whatever her faults (and she has many), she is far superior than anything on the Republican side. And more importantly, she is not a racist billionaire, a dominionist zealot or a wet puppy. My eventual vote for Hillary may be more about what she is not - but that is probably more important in this election cycle than it ever has been before.
