That's basically the Russian approach--fly high and fast. It makes you basically fight the whole defenses of whatever you're shooting at. Not very important if you're shooting at Pakistan but you'll need quite a few to hit of the major players. And it's a cruise missile, not ballistic. Thus you don't add the complications of exoatmospheric intercepts.Brahmos goes with a speed of Mach 3.5. It utilises a "fire-and-forget" system, requiring no additional input from the operator once the missile has been launched. Fire it from land, air, sea or submarine (various versions).

I trust the Ukrainians got the word before it officially went out so they got the jump on the Russians. In more important news. . .

Terrorist regime in Washington has been shelling Belgorod for a while now. Russians moved Air defence to protect the city and shoot down most of the unguided rockets you send. ATACMS has show to be easy target in Crimea. It's pretty much US version of Tochka-U which is easy to defend against. Cruise missiles ar harder to defend against. In more important news. . .
Dude, it was plan A. So try again. It was THE Plan."Plan to".Are you aware that US did plan to first strike USSR. You ascribe too much sense to current regime in the West.
You fail to understand military reality.
Of course we have plans for a first strike on Russia!
Terrorist puppet regime in Kiev use unguided missiles to randomly shell Belgorod.Missiles have guidance systems and they do not come cheap. The militaries aim them at definite targets. Of course, if they miss that and hit radars, that too is good. If they hit civilians, unfortunate, but collateral damage. War is a tough game.Terrorist nazi regimes does not really care what they hit, be it civilians in Belgorod or some radar which has not effect on the war.
Cool, who destroyed Bord Stream?NATO is specifically a military alliance who's members have equal voice. It is not a collection of satellite states controlled by one overwhelming power.
You mean when US overthrew democratically elected president Yanukovich and installed Nazi regime which started killing russians in former russian regions of Ukraine in their attempt to provoke Russian intervention?Russians were not killing Ukrainians till 2013 when Ukraine elected Poroshenko as President.Disregarding the interests of people who are interested in killing you and taking all your stuff, isn't really a mistake, though, is it?
Previous red lines drawn by Western leaders in their support for Ukraine have been crossed, including the provision of tanks, which was agreed in early 2023 to help Ukraine breach enemy defensive lines, and F-16 fighter jets, which European governments agreed to in the summer of 2023 after months of diplomatic pressure.
France has supplied Ukraine with an unknown number of SCALP cruise missiles, according to the French Defense Ministry’s website.
The SCALP missiles have a range of up to 155 kilometers (96 miles) and carry a 400-kilogram (881-pound) high-explosive penetration warhead, according to the Missile Threat project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
The SCALP is the equivalent of Britain’s Storm Shadow, which has also been given to Ukraine, and which British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said earlier this month could be used at Kyiv’s discretion.

Meanwhile, Ukraine got a key pledge of support on Tuesday from Belgium, which said it will supply Kyiv with 30 F-16 fighter jets in the next four years, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The meeting follows a similar agreement between Ukraine and Spain on Monday, with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announcing a $1.08 billion weapons deal for Ukraine.
Alongside Belgium and Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, Finland and Canada have also signed security agreements.
Why did they do that? The Biden administration has quietly given Ukraine permission to strike inside Russia — solely near the area of Kharkiv — using U.S.-provided weapons, two U.S. officials and two other people familiar with the move said Thursday, a major reversal that will help Ukraine to better defend its second-largest city.
“The president recently directed his team to ensure that Ukraine is able to use U.S. weapons for counter-fire purposes in Kharkiv so Ukraine can hit back at Russian forces hitting them or preparing to hit them,” a U.S. official said, adding that the policy of not allowing long-range strikes inside Russia “has not changed.”
So it's not just the US, but a lot of Western Europe. In effect, Ukraine can now use American-provided weapons, such as rockets and rocket launchers, to shoot down launched Russian missiles heading toward Kharkiv, at troops massing just over the Russian border near the city, or Russian bombers launching bombs toward Ukrainian territory. But the official said Ukraine cannot use those weapons to hit civilian infrastructure or launch long-range missiles, such as the Army Tactical Missile System, to hit military targets deep inside Russia.
It’s a stunning shift the administration initially said would escalate the war by more directly involving the U.S. in the fight. But worsening conditions for Ukraine on the battlefield –– namely Russia’s advances and improved position in Kharkiv –– led the president to change his mind.

Those messages came after top U.S. allies, such as the United Kingdom and France, said Ukraine should have the right to attack inside Russia using Western weapons. Lawmakers from both parties also supported the move publicly and privately, while top U.S. military officials briefed Congress behind closed doors that relaxing the restriction had “military value,” POLITICO first reported.

They turned his house inside out searching for incriminating evidence. A message in Shapovalenko’s phone that called Russian soldiers “orcs” — a derisive reference to the evil forces in J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth books and a popular Ukrainian slur for the Russian army — was enough for them. He said he was tied up, blindfolded and stuffed into an unmarked car.
For days after, Shapovalenko said he was repeatedly electrocuted in his genital area, threatened with being raped with a glass bottle, and was even made to believe he could be sterilized.
“They seemed to have a fetish for genitalia. Sometimes the door would open, and they would say: ‘We’re going to take out our batons and we’re going to rape everyone here,’” the 39-year-old farm manager told CNN.

Rape and sexual violence are explicitly prohibited by the Geneva Conventions – the set of international laws that regulate the conduct of armed conflict – and can constitute a war crime. Mock execution is considered a form of torture under international law.
Under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), committing rape and sexual violence in a systematic or widespread way is considered a crime against humanity.
According to Ukrainian prosecutors investigating conflict-based sexual violence and abuse, all available evidence indicates that it is a deliberate tactic, part of Russia’s modus operandi in Ukraine.

According to Andrii, the threats of rape and genital electrocution were the norm among the Russian forces. “They enjoyed it. They were having fun,” he said.
Ukrainian prosecutors have recorded incidents of Russian officials raping or attempting to rape victims using objects including batons, a pipe, a bottle, a handle of a shovel, a stick and a pen.
