How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

Let's kick Russian butt!!!
Can't wait you try.

Meanwhile, Green Goblin administration are slowly realizing that they are fucked up. Trump basically told his administration "Get me out of this shit as quickly as possible"
There were doubts which faction in Trump administration would win, but it looks like neocon leaning one are losing.
Russia is releasing all these american potheads which decide to visit Moscow for some reasons.

Finally, UK is opening up for boots on the ground in Ukraine.

While I think Trump is a fucking idiot. I like that we in Europe have woken up to the reality that big Daddy USA isn't automatically going to do our dirty work for us.

With what?
NATO Active Duty Personnel by Country
As much as I hate Trump, I am not one to look past evidence that might support his position. Looking at the active military personnel by country and considering which countries are likely to contribute anything more that a token amount to the cause, if NATO xUS could even put this together, it is understandable why the Trump administration is looking past Europe in these negotiations. Sure, Putin has done more to strengthen NATO than anyone else has but that doesn't build European armed forces overnight.
How long would it take for a European security force in Ukraine to collapse due to complaining? Three years, perhaps? And Trump's not going to care.

20% of the Ukrainian army is locked up in behind the front administrative roles. If these are replaced by EU troops, that would free up those troops and could be sent to the front. If that happens then Ukrainian and Russian troop numbers will be evenly matched. Those administrative roles have zero mortality risk. Unless there's some sort of freak accident involving a rampaging stapler. It's a really low political risk for the country who sends these troops. And these troops need to come from western European countries, because any country near the Russian border won't be suicidal enough to dismantle their defences against Russia to send them to Ukraine. Even though these countries are the most motivated in helping Ukraine

Once European countries start sending troops to Ukraine the risk of the war expanding across all of Europe is high. But I believe Putin is our ages Hitler and needs to be stopped. If Ukraine falls to Russia Putin will not have any reason not to keep going.

So basically, it doesn't matter Europe is not ready for war right now. I think, war is coming. I also think, until we're officially at war, we're not going to shift to a war time mentality or economy. Europe still has the mentality that if there's a problem, USA will come running to our aid. That looks less and less likely. And frankly... right now... we don't deserve American help. You can't help someone who isn't helping themselves. Europe is not doing that. Whatever it takes for Europe to start taking responsibility for our own defence, I'm for. If declaring war on Russia and moving troops into Ukraine is what is needed, I'm for it.

And they (20%) want it to stay that way.

Level of your delusion is mind-boggling. Ukraine has ran out of man who are capable and willing to fight.
Thanks to general Green Goblin.

The Irony! it hurts.
Negotiations about Ukraine without Ukraine (and EU for that matter) have started in Riyadh.
All that scum from EU and former US administration who explicitly excluded Russia from their "peace" summit in Switzerland.
They must be having nervous breakdown.

As for negotiations, it's clear that Trump Administration wants to lift all sanctions, I think Russia should accept that in exchange for all of the Ukraine going back to Russia. You can keep most of the Baltic States (Russia needs to have corridor to Kalinigrad).

By the way, Green Goblin tried gate-crash the negotiations, But Mohammed bin Salman told him to fuck off (diplomatically)
So Green Goblin went to .... United Emirates :D, what is he doing there, nobody knows.
This crackhead clown has no shame.

I think a lot of it depends on whether the US/Russia talks are in the form of an ultimatum or not. Trump says nothing economic or military is off the table but we'll have to see how Russia responds coming out of the talks. My hope is Trump will press an ultimatum on Russia and Ukraine with little negotiating power will simply have to accept it or not.
Further my concern is the minerals in the part of Ukraine Russia has taken, how they will be dealt with. It is unambiguous that Russia bears responsibility for this war and its cost. I should specify Putin is responsible not the Russian people. Will we drop sanctions and allow Russia to have mineral rights in Ukraine? I hope not. I hope Trump knows how weak Putin is in all this too.

Hyundai/Kia are getting back to Russia, so is Coca-Cola. Some indication IKEA wants to as well, but it's not certain
Moneygrubbers gonna grub. It shows they couldn't give a flying fuck about doing the right thing. They just figure people in western nations are past caring enough that it's not going to affect their bottom line.

Hyundai/Kia leaving EU/US is not a realistic proposition.

presumably, the reasons why Putin would not keep going is that he'd soon encounter an actual NATO country and that his military has barely been able to take on the Ukrainians, let alone any more armies that would surely join in the fray.

There's plenty countries not part of NATO. And several contested regions. Several with Russian separatist movements Russia can get involved in.

Ukraine was a good playbook. Send arms to a local Russian separatist group. Then offer to help the opressed separatists.

WUT?
Non-NATO countries bordering Russia:
  • North Korea
  • China
  • Mongolia
  • Kazakhstan
  • Azerbaijan
  • Georgia
  • Ukraine
  • Belarus
He already has Georgia and is still working on Ukraine. Once that and Belarus (puppet already standing by) are in the pocket, the map changes and there area new opportunities, but they get more and more NATO to the west.

So once Pootey gets Ukraine and Belarus, who's next? North Korea? Mongolia? The Shitholestans? (haven't treated Russia too well in the past)

Jeffrey Sachs was on Democracy Now tonight. Along with Matt Duss, another conservative but not a Russian stooge. I am now firmly a believer that Sachs is a Russian stooge. He tried to claim Yanukovich was neutral when he was clearly a Russian plant in the Ukraine government. Tried to claim the Maidan protest was solely orchestrated by the US but, as Duss pointed out, was attended and supported by thousands of Ukrainians.

Much more here, including a transcript.
