How should west respond to Russian invasion of Ukraine?

Crap no!

The article details that the Trump administration is considering some economic incentives even before Russia commits to peace. As a sign of good faith. Fuck that. No deals with Russia until there is a real peace on the table. Period. It's so funny that Barbos hates Trump so much. Trump is so pro-Russian and desperate to do business in Russia. If Putin had an ounce of brains he'd take this deal.

Exactly right Barbos. Russia wants nothing material from America/Europe, Europe just wants Russian oil and gas.

Yet Russia has always persisted in sowing disorder in Europe.

Putin's war forced Europe to seek to reduce independence on Russian energy.

What Putin wants more like craves is to have the Russian Federation seen as a military and economic equal to the EU and USA. It could have happened if Putin was competent enough to do it. Interact sensibly with Europe and USA instead of the old Soviet belligerence.

China did it.

Ukraine chose an economic alliance with the EU because it was more attractive than the Russian Federation and Russian authoritarianism. They did not want to be a Russian puppet state.

The old Soviet Union is gone and its paradigms. You can no force states to align with Russia.

Russia has to make it attractive for others to align and do business with Russia.

Before the war few over here kew or cated much about Russia and the Russia Federation. We know about Cnentral/South America. Europe, Africa, and Asia. Ongoing reporting. Tourism and cultural exchanges. Trade.

Just on free TV I can watch news and cultural shows from Asia, Europe, and Africa. Nothing from Russia or the Russian Federation.

Plenty of TV hows on culture, archeology. and history from everywhere but Russia. If not for the war Putin's Rusisia is a global backwater. Out of touch with the world.

As long as Russia does not threaten Europe nobody cars what Russia does. Nobody. Putin manufactured a European threat.

Putin can declare himself tsar Vlad The Great, wear a crown and robes, and nobody would give a shit.

bullshit, utter bullshit.

Ukro-Fuhrer clown demands western locomotives, except he does not know that West does not have any locomotives suitable for Ukrainian railroads.

The biggest threat to Russia is Putin's Soviet era hatred of the west.

To thrive Russia has to be a pert of the glo0bal community. Not an imagined isolated empire of delusional glory.

Trump is hurting America. He is going back to old ways of thinking. He thinks America can dominate the world by military threats, and Iran shows how wrong he is. He thinks we do not need anyone else. He thinks we do not need allies.

China is a political and economic adversary, yet culturally we are linked. People over here gealy lie Jpanese and Chneese culture, and in recent decades Koran culture. South Korean pop music and movies.

Lite id anythg from Russia.

Starting hte 80s China began cultural tours in the USA. Chinese acrobats and martial arts. Traditional Chinese dance. Peopplee liked it.

On the flip side American basketball has become popular in China. We have had NBA players from China.

China and America's table tennis relationship centers around historic Ping-pong diplomacy, which began in April 1971 when the U.S. table tennis team visited China and helped end over two decades of Cold War hostility.

Putin has bull a wall between Russia and the west.

Post revolution Russia has had to keep people from leaving while western countries have a problem with too many people wanting to get in. Russia just is not attractive or appealing to people to live there.

The Berlin Wall was to keep people ln, not keeping peole out.

Meanwhile NYT reports that Ukraine's steel production is (90%) OUT and it could take years to recover.
Remember Wildberies? They are doing fine. Only 3% of total (not just WB) warehouse capacity were "destroyed"
Estimates of ukrainian warehouse capacity losses varies from 30 to 60%

Interesting article on the perils of a Russian autocratic regime. Elite paralysis is a serious problem and has echoes for both Putin and Trump.

Undeniably, the counterintelligence model has helped the Kremlin achieve its immediate political goals. But these advantages have come at a steep price. Officials stop reporting problems before they become crises. Regional authorities avoid initiative unless explicitly ordered. Researchers, statistical agencies, and businesses withhold information that could attract official scrutiny. And civil servants throughout the government set aside efficient administration in deference to anticipated orders from above.

For the Kremlin today, the risk of elite paralysis is real: it now extends beyond the research and expert community to top officials and leaders of the industries in Moscow and the regions. By eroding the feedback loop that every stable government—even the most authoritarian—needs to stay in power, the Putin regime is becoming less capable of understanding the real condition of Russia. And that could, in the long run, make Putin far more vulnerable to a true political crisis.

Don't ypu just hate it when you start a war and your capitol city gets bombed. A real bummer.
