How should west respond to Russian invasion of Ukraine?

Barbos

My point is starting with Stalin and continued through Putin Russia sets itself against the world. culturally isolates itself.

The majority of the world culturally, politically, ad economically cross pollinate. Ideas flow.

In the 70s and 80s American manufacturing adopted Japanese concepts. Just in tie manufacturing, kanban.

Chia adapted parts western capitalism to its system and ideology.

As to Chia being Putin's friend China is out for China. I'd say China is using Putin as leverage aghast USA.

Down stream I posted about Russian electric cars. Laughable style wise and functionally. Like an old Soviet image.

China can be drconian to us, but I think the CCP leadership does care about the people. They raised stnadrds of living and trasformed China into a modern state. Quite an accomplishment.

Meanwhile Putin is running around ranting about the west and NATO, which was never a threat.

Neither Trump not Putin give a shit about the people. It is all about their personal power.

We generally like Chinese and Japanese culture. It is part of our own culture.

I have no idea what Russian culture is like, we never see any of it. From what does get out of Russia is the people are afraid to speak their minds. Criticism of Putin is suppressed. All independent media has been shut down. Political candidates suppressed.

The idea Putin 'got elected' is laughable.

In other words, a shit hole.

Russia;s population is shrinking exacerbated by the war. Few want to migrate to Russia. North Korea sends people to Russia.

America and the western systems all have problemss with too many people wnanting to migrate.

word salad again.

You must have been smoking some mushrooms again. Russian electric car does not use lead-acid batteries.
The last time I heard it was basically chinese car with with very modern exterior and interior.
Having said that, Russia does make its own lithium ion batteries.

The problem with Russia is they have no boogie.

Start by moving your big toes, then taping your feet, then get up and start moving. When you experience the boogie you will understand Americans.

Putin loses another friend in Serbia.

And the EU gains a partner as congratulations come in from Ursula von der Leyen and Péter Magyar.

With 140 of 250 parliamentary seats won, the Student List have an outright majority.
Now they just have to figure out how to govern.
Well, it did not age well. Apparently this new party is actually ...... more pro-russian than Vuchich.
If you consider Vuchich pro-russian at all. The thing is, serbs are inherently pro-russian.

Yes they are inherently pro-russian and suspicious of the west. But they also don't want continuous war and strife; which is what Russia wants.

Putin has strengthened the AA defense ring around his valdai residence with 15 new flak towers (at the cost of £16m per tower), upping the total to over half a hundred.

Which is strange because he keeps ensuring us all of Ukraine's drones and missiles are being shot down.

As a side note, I wouldn't put it past Ukraine to hit the mansion now, just to show that they can.

There is no reason to believe anything coming from western media, let alone british one.
As for defences, then the really interesting one is about Kiev regime preparing for defence of ..... Kiev

Dude, you fucking lost in Serbia. The guys you thought were pro-you turned out to be anti-you.
And you lost in Brazil. Even though Lula is annoying pain in the ass.
I mean Russia has written off Brazil as far as BRICS concerned.
Now add France and Germany and you are fucked. Le Pen is flaky. But AfD will most certainly stop flow of money to Kiev Regime.
And troubles in CIA. People are resigning because of Rat-cliffe

Brazil is a weird case. They are in US sphere of influence. And US is clearly hostile towards BRICS.
Lula can be pro-BRICS all he wants but people in his administration are afraid of US, so they are quietly sabotaging BRICS.
Russian officials expressed their displeasure about that to Brazilians.
India is also has a significant pro-US business faction. But they cannot live without trade with Russia.
China does have a huge trade with US, but they feel (correctly) that they have advantage over US, hence they don't give much fuck about US threats. And India actually use China against US. US can't sanction India without sanctioning China as well.

BRICS is a feeble attempt by Russia to create an image of economic power equal to Europe and North North America.

A fantasy.

Brazil produces goods others want. Russia does not. Brazil's Embraer jets, a long established global supplier. Russia struggles to p[produce a commercial jet.

Russia's EVs are laughable by global standards.

Putin keeps Russia in the old Soviet mind set expecting a different result, the Soviet collapse..

Trump is trying to bring back the old foreign policy of spheres of influence, but he will be out in 2 years.

Instead of working with the EU and integrating into the economy Putin like the Soviets tries to establish an authoritarian economic block with Russia at the top, and he fails. Russians suffer.

In contrast China fully integrated into the western economies and became part of the global supply chain, while maintaining its political independence.

Chiese pragmatism I would say. China has a very long history of of industry, creativity, and invention.

In contrast Russians are dullards.

China is, as cold authoritarian regimes go, a model of effective governance. Extreme cruelty must be leveled at any threat to the power structure, no matter how slight. Keeps everyone in line, mostly. And that is to the benefit of the regime AND its captive populace.

Why do I get the feeling if Vučić's SNS and Bolsonaro won, you'd be singing the same tune?

Serbia will warm to the EU. They will work on reforming their government. They need Russian energy, for now.

Over hear people do care about Ukraine
.
WE have Ukrainian refuges here in Washington.

No one cares about Russians because it is an unjustified unprovoked war against Ukaraine.

Not all support Ukraine. Certainly not Trump, herhas no morality.

Many here and I see Ukraine as an underdog fighting for freedom and liberty against a corrupt dictatorship.

Pity I cannot see pictures. How do these towers compare to the flak towers the jerries built in WW2?

I can pray that that will happen.

Putin probably sleeps in a bunker at an undisclosed location.

Don;t you just hate it when you start a war and you get bombed by the people you attacked?

Hey Vladimir, are we having fun yet?
