I mean, you teed it up for me so,
But in any event, the ICE agents were bang out of order shooting and killing Pretti. I think everyone on here agrees with that.
JFC, out of order is how we describe fucking vending machines.
You think the MAGAS are pleased with this outcome?
You think the taillight issue came up out of genuine interest in the man’s life story?

So, today, someone I recently started working with got arrested by ICE.

He's worked for them for years, has a work authorization, works pretty diligently.

He's a better employee there than I am, for sure.

He was arrested around 7:00 AM and as of 2:00 hadn't been even entered into any sort of system.

We don't know if they are charging him, holding him, roughing him up, or disappearing him.

Nobody knows what they would possibly even charge him with, because all his paperwork was in order.

I think MAGA IS pleased with this outcome. It's their outcome. ICE is "their" people. Or rather they would be if not for the pesky cameras everywhere revealing their lies.

Ok, so no weasely words then.

The expression is a common colloquialism in the UK used to describe egregious wrongdoing.

You don’t think it’s interesting to know a bit more about Pretti? I think it is relevant to get a better all round picture of what made Petrie tick and help explain why he did what he did.

Well, MAGA believes what they are told so those pesky cameras don’t mean shit. There’s always AI to doctor anything that does not comport with MAGA reality.

I hope your coworker ends up ok, and released quickly I have a couple of friends in similar situation ( Brown skin, accents, work papers all in order, etc.) that I worry about constantly. Crossing fingers that they are ok. Trying not to bug them with check ins. Other friends who are naturalized citizens who carry their passports every time they leave their homes. They tell me this is what things were like in their old countries, before it got bad enough that they left for freedom in the good old USA.

Fuck MAGA all to hell

I didn't say it was your post. That post nicely quotes examples of you using weasel words:

From Google on what 'weasel words' do:
2. Avoid responsibility
"mistakes were made"
"but if true"
"bad decision with devastating consequences"
4. Soften or obscure meaning:
"inserted himself"
"seems like an activist agitator"
"in this tragedy"

Good example, instead of using weaselology like "out of order" you could have used the far more apt description "egregious wrongdoing".

No, in fact it's nauseating to see people attempting to blame the victim in such circumstances.

What's relevant is the actual words exchanged between Pretti and the agents prior to the altercation and shooting; which depressingly seems like we'll never learn about.

I already mostly know why Pretti "did what he did", see: the recent murder of Renee Good by other ICE goons just a few miles away.

Good grief, there is nothing weasel about it. You just don’t like that Pretti bears some responsibility in his own demise.

As I say, Pretti does bear some responsibility for his own actions. Pretti obviously wasn’t merely a peaceful protester randomly picked out of the crowd for execution by callous ICE agents as some would have us believe.

What's relevant is the actual words exchanged between Pretti and the agents prior to the altercation and shooting; which depressingly seems like we'll never learn about.

A bit more than words were exchanged. Why did he spit at an agent? Why did he violently kick and smash the tail light of a federal vehicle? While carrying a gun in the waistband of his pants too.

I already mostly know why Pretti "did what he did", see: the recent murder of Renee Good by other ICE goons just a few miles away.

Indeed he probably was worked up into a frenzy by his group of activists.

Holy fuck man. Pretti would have held some responsibility in his arrest for obstructing justice. Not in his summary execution. Absolutely nothing that Pretti did could be deemed responsible for his murder.

Yea, it's just a super bizarre argument. An accused child molester doesn't deserve summary execution.

Holy fuck man. Pretti would have held some responsibility in his arrest for obstructing justice.

He bears responsibility for putting himself into dangerous situations. Twice.

Not in his summary execution. Absolutely nothing that Pretti did could be deemed responsible for his murder.

Summary execution is a bit strong. His death is a result of many factors including the trigger happy ICE agents and Pretti’s recklessness.

Yes, he did step in the way of the pepper spray the ICE agent needlessly shot toward a woman that the ICE agent had just shoved down.

The most reckless thing Pretti did was underestimate how unprofessional and criminal those ICE agents would act.

Yes, Pretti needlessly and recklessly inserted himself into a situation he shouldn't have. Not that hard to grasp I would have thought.

I am 100% certain if Pretti had remained on the sidewalk peacefully protesting he would still be alive today and protesting.

That isn't what is hard to grasp, what is hard to grasp is that this is being raised in relation to him being shot to death by ICE. The risk to stepping up to ICE agents should be being detained for obstruction. The situation was not dangerous, until ICE agents escalated the situation by assaulting the protestors with physical force and tear gas.
I am 100% certain if Pretti had remained on the sidewalk peacefully protesting he would still be alive today and protesting.
And if the people didn't board that DC bound plane, they wouldn't have died in the mid-air collision. Everything carries some percentage of risk. Being shot from behind while being detained by multiple officiers for having words with ICE agents should be as unexpected as being in a mid-air collision.

What seems to be hard to grasp is what a peaceful protest is. A peaceful protest is not what Pretti was doing and his risk for catastrophe went up exponentially when he made that confrontation while carrying a gun.

Pretti was wrong to insert himself into an ICE operation. That's on him and the activists that cheer for this shit. This has nothing to do with leaving the house and getting struck by lightening or boarding planes. He could have remained on the sidewalk and legally protested the ICE operation. He chose not to, twice. He was fortunate the first time that something bad didn't happen but he does it again?! ffs Pretti is not very smart.

I already indicated he risked being arrested. Not hard to grasp.

This is a false dichotomy. Just because Pretti wasn't on the sidewalk spreading flowers petals doesn't mean his protesting (approaching an agent with hands clearly visible) was risking "catastrophe".

Federal Agents are assaulting him (they were tear gas spraying and then hitting him in the face/chest with the tear gas can before the gun is even noticed) not because he obstructed justice, helped let someone get away, someone noticed he had a weapon, nor he assaulted an ICE agent... but because he emoted an unpopular opinion with ICE agents.

This is exactly what the First Amendment was supposed to protect.

Pretti had no business or reason for interfering with an ICE operation like he did on this occasion and the previous occasion where he spat at an agent and smashed a vehicle taillight. He had every right to peacefully protest but chose not to, that is on him.

Pretti had no business or reason for interfering with an ICE operation
Yeah, placing himself between a thug and a defenseless woman the thug was assaulting, was a stupid risk to take on behalf of an utter stranger. What a moron! If it had been TSwizzle watching the woman getting beat up by thugs, he would have lit up a smoke and enjoyed the show. He's too smart to put one hair on his own head on the line for someone else.
Trying to protect innocent people from malicious lawless thugs is always a recipe for getting yourself murdered.
Compassion and empathy are weaknesses that are going to be purged from the New Order once Trump is properly anointed King and The Haters are all swinging from gallows. Then Swiz can murder all those drunks that crash on his doorstep, and not have to worry about anyone giving a fuck.
MAGA!!!

Translation: The life that was taken by those thugs was worth more than that of all those thugs plus Swiz's put together.*
