Apparently, while we were busy getting distracted by the pandemic, Texas went ahead and made a law to put "In God We Trust" in all public schools. More shenanigans--somehow to avoid legal problems, the law requires that signs being added to the schools come from private funds/donations of the signs, but the law also requires the signs.
An interesting article discusses an activist who examined the law and determined the signs need not be in English. So, he's donating them in Arabic, like so:
