OK, so Israel has maybe only murdered 800 innocent people as opposed to 817 innocent people. Clearly, we're all out of line in condemning them.

1) This is just a case we know about. Lots of Hamas rockets fall short. This is not the first high profile case that has turned out be a short-falling round, either.

2) Most of those civilian deaths are due to Hamas deliberately putting people in harm's way. The total number of Palestinians killed is less than one per bomb--obviously most bombs only destroy things (weapons or now tunnels) rather than kill. That says there's something different about the attacks that kill--they're more important targets that Hamas uses human shields on.

It seems though that Israel didn't want to be upstaged by Hamas, so they shot up another school, and this time there is no question that it was by Israeli artillery.

It's trolling by airstrike. "We blew up your homes because Hamas. You should have evacuated, terrorists!" Then they bomb the shelters: "We blew up the shelters because Hamas. You shouldn't have voted for them in the first place, terrorists!" Then four hours later they bomb a meat market in the middle of the day... I suppose they're worried about civilians constructing mentos/pepsi rockets during the (sort of) ceasefire.

They can't even deny it with a straight face anymore. After the bombing of the power plant, it's obvious to everyone that this is a massive campaign of state-sponsored terrorism. EVERY Palestinian is a target, EVERY Palestinian will be made to suffer, EVERY Palestinian will be punished every second that they remain in Gaza.

The U.N. report claims there were at least five. I am also unable to find a U.N. source that claims a Hamas rocket was involved in the Beit Hanoun incident. I do find a lot of Israeli newspapers apparently quoting that source, but it doesn't seem to be repeated anywhere else.

I'm beginning to think that Israel's problem isn't so much the growing imprecision of its weapons as its diminishing ability to control the narrative in western media. They're definitely having an off year.

It was an errant Hamas round that did it.

1) Your words imply you're blaming Israel for this.

2) You don't accomplish something heroic by accident. An errant rocket can't be heroic even if it takes out the guy with his finger on the doomsday button.

As for the report--my understanding is that the original was on Israeli TV in Hebrew. Not speaking Hebrew I have made no attempt to locate it online.

I don't know about that. It took Israel two rounds to kill those children playing on the beach, and they didn't have anything to hide behind.
