So, President Trump, global peacemaker that he is, has been duped and taken advantage of by yet another of his peace-loving pals.
Bibi got Trump to pressure Hamas to meet in Qatar, which Trump did. Hamas dutifully reported to Qatar for a peace conference as Trump demanded, and lo - Bibi bombs the fuck out of the meeting, making the SEVENTH country outside of Israel that he has attacked.
Trump has egg on his face, the threat of peace has been neutralized and for Bibi its just business as usual; lie, cheat and attack attack attack, all the while claiming to be a victim.
Fuck Bibi, fuck Trump, and fuck the people supporting either of them.

I wouldn't say Israel has run amok. They did seem to waste a tremendous amount of political capital in Doha, for absolutely no gain. Netanyahu has been splurging on political capital and goodwill and is well in a deficit at the moment.

Ultimately this type of attach is why the hostages exist in the first place. There was no way Hamas leadership would have been provided a modicum of mercy from Mossad after 10/7, without an ace in the hole.

Guess you’d have to ‘splain that to me like I’m three. Unless the “ace in the hole” is Bibi’s overarching need for lethal combat to keep himself out of jail.

The Leadership of Hamas collected the Hostages on 10/7 so that Mossad didn't kill every major head of Hamas in response to 10/7.

Worked like a charm, eh? They're down to some 20 live and 30 dead (est) bodies now, and not a lot to show for it. But Bibi still has his excuse to continue his genocide campaign, right?
Does ANYONE in Israel really believe that if all those hostages and hostage bodies were returned to Israel, things would be one bit different on the "Hamas represents a grave threat that must be eliminated" front?
If so, they're as stupid as trumpsuckers.

This was very unpolitic thing to do, but at the same time, I fail to see what is morally wrong with bombing "the fuck out of" a bunch of Hamas leaders living it up in Doha.

Seventh? Really? Let's see.
  1. Gaza/Palestine? Not really a country, and Israel did not attack it either. It responded to an attack by "Palestine". It would be like saying US attacked Japan, or Ukraine attacked Russia.
  2. Lebanon? A real country this time, but again Israel was responding to an attack by the Hezbollah terrorists.
  3. Yemen? Again, defensive action since Houthis have been attacking Israel for almost two years now.
  4. Iran? Since they are the liege lords of groups like Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis, this one was also defensive.
  5. Syria? Complicated situation with the fall of Assad regime, but let me give that one to you for the sake of the argument.
  6. Qatar? The attack was against Hamas, not Qatar specifically, but let me give that one to you as well.
So we are at total of six, five of them countries, and in only two cases can it even be argued that Israel attacked them, and not vice versa.
And what is the 7th? Or do you count Gaza and Judea/Samaria as two?

As if there was any danger of peace breaking out. The most these talks would have yielded would be exchange of the ~20 hostages for >1000 terrorists in Israeli prisons, Hamas refusing to disarm, and plotting how to attack Israel next. After all, repeating 10/7 over and over again is their stated goal.

Bombing suspected criminals denies them due process; So you can then no longer morally claim that the people you bombed were criminals. And bombs target areas, not people; You cannot be confident that the people you kill will be the people you wanted to kill.

It is morally wrong to drop bombs in an effort to kill any specific individual or individuals, for this reason.

If somebody needs to be brought to justice, bypassing justice and just going straight to capital punishment of the people you hope are your suspects (and incidentally taking and/or risking the lives of anyone nearby), is very clearly and obviously morally wrong, to the point where I question what the fuck has to be wrong with you for you to even suggest that it might not be.

Even if your moral framework accepts capital punishment without trial for sufficiently guilty individuals, bombing "a bunch of Hamas leaders" is unacceptably ineffective and stupid.

When Osama bin Laden was killed, the US deployed a team to go in on the ground and kill him. Because if they had just dropped bombs on the house they thought he was in, they could never be sure that they got him. Or, indeed, who else they 'got' as well.

Dropping bombs is a dumb way to target individuals, even if you have no moral qualms about it whatsoever; It inevitably kills some people you didn't want to kill, and the families and friends of those people will hate you forever. Increasing the number of people who hate you is a truly stupid way to go about protecting yourself from violence.

So, not only is it obviously and blatantly morally wrong, it is also stupid and counterproductive to your goals, even if you are so mired in psycopathy as to fail to spot the moral issue.
