It appears CNN IS Fake News

Things that bother me about CNN.

They do take a quten of of context at times and build it into a continuing story, they have to fill the day.

Anchors are full of themselves and self promotion. I listened to an anchor promote his book and urge listeners to buy it.

Anchors practice selective morality. The endless stream of crocodile tears and concern for the border kids became sickening. Pure ratings opportunism. Self righteous moral authorities for the masses.

The praced gravitas of Blitzer becomes laughable. I watched him cover some trival story as if it were the end of the world. CNN is part showmanship.

The anchos think they are Mark Twain moral pundits and stand up comedians. Laughing as if serious events are no matter. More self promotion and self indulgence.
CNN does have a tendency to twist commentary with a bias.

That being said out of CNN, FOX, and MSNBC CNN does a good job of presenting and interpreting events. FOX obviously is propaganda. MSNBC is not as bad as FOX but is biased, When Shrpton was hired he said he would never be critical of Obama.

The good pundits are very knowledgeable on global history, major players, who did what when in our history and so on. They can speak of the top of their heads on complex issues. CNN does a good job of having multiple views represented, even Trump shills.

Despite any failings right now CNN is a major part of the firewall preventing Trump from assuming an authoritarian rule. They are under an existential attack. Trump would destroy CNN if he could out of his mental instability and his childish need to dominate and intolerance of criticism. We can consider CNN the canary in the mine. If it is depressed we are in trouble.

When Obama moved to exclude FOX from the WH on the claim they were not real news CNN and others objected. Something for FOX to consider. Yes, Obama was initially anti media and developed a govt web site to get around the press.

RT doesn't have accurate news, period.

There might be a few bits of stopped-clock news there but that's about good as it gets. It's a Russian propaganda outlet, if it were true the main news sites would normally pick it up.

Curious why you picked CNN, Trump's and also Putin's whipping post. Why not FOX which makes no effort to deny being a propaganda outlet for Trump. They have intentionally and blatantly pushed false fake news stories.

I asked before with no answer, where do you live and who are you?
I pick on Fair&Balanced too. But FOX is already hated here. There is not much point for me to add. CNN on the other hand is considered standard on lack of bias and journalistic integrity, You believe everything they say.

OK I listened to that part without annoying CNN lady who should be fired for her utter stupidity.
32:17 start of the two part question in English
32:23 end of the two part question
32:24 Putin "Да, я хотел чтобы он выиграл" (Yes, I wanted him to win) then blah blah about normalizing relationship
32:26 Interpreter: "Yes, I did"
32:27 Interpreter: "Yes, I did" then translated to english blah blah about normalizing relationship

Conclusion: Russian Interpreter completely missed second part of the question. So it did not get to Putin. Then interpreter translated longer and unambiguous answer Putin gave into shorter "Yes, I did" repeating it twice very quickly. Stupid CNN lady interpreted it as answers to two parts of the questions. Stupid Rachel Maddow repeated the same thing.

Russian interpreter is probably in GULAG now. CNN lady should at least be fired for being too stupid for CNN.

NPR corrected their transcript to what actually have been said
Correction July 18, 2018

In an earlier version of this transcript, Vladimir Putin's answer to the question, "Did you want President Trump to win the election and did you direct any of your officials to help him do that?" was incorrectly translated to say: "Yes, I did. Yes, I did." It now reads, "Yes, I wanted him to win."
It was corrected on July 18. Does CNN still insist on their BS?

First, let me say I think your defense of Putin is plausible but I never thought he was admitting to anything nefarious in the first place. Second, I don't think you've proven your case beyond a doubt and the lady from CNN was just saying what she thought was said.

To the specifics....
First, there really isn't much of a difference between "I wanted him to win" and "I did" except one is a paraphrase. Both could be used to interpret his affirmative as providing justification for part B of the question. So look at part B by itself with the answer: "Did you order officials to help him win?" "Yes, I wanted him to win."

Second, the interpreter is interpreting each part of sentence on the fly. Since the part B was a little longer than part A, it would have been ~half the sentence it would have been from ~32:20 to 32:23. The interpreter would be saying a few words within that range and a couple more to complete part B within the 32:23 to 32:24 timeframe. There is definitely enough time to complete part B from 32:21 to 32:24. The alternative is that reporter asked part A from 32:17 to 32:20 and interpreter interpreted from 32:18 to 32:21 and then never mentioned part B from 32:21 to 32:24 while the reporter was still talking. Now that means everyone in Putin's camp would notice the interpreting is not interpreting while the reporter is still asking the question (Part B). Which makes much less sense. Putin as an experienced person working with interpreters would instead wait for the interpreter to interpret and complete sentence AFTER the reporter is done talking.

Third, let's not pretend that Putin doesn't know English either or that other people in his entourage do not know English because they do. Putin is actually decent at speaking English and almost as good as his translators. He would have picked up on there being a part B from content of the English, besides the timing already discussed above.

Here is RT News:
Although far less known, Russia’s President doesn’t shy away from publicly expressing himself in English either, despite the fact that he has only been learning the language for a few years amid his tight schedule as head of state.

Putin did not hesitate to employ his newly-acquired skills to garner international support for Russia’s bids to host major sport events.

An avid sportsman himself, he personally presented Sochi’s bid to host the 2014 Winter Olympics to the International Olympic Committee in a 5-minute speech in English in 2007.

Four years later, he celebrated Russia’s success in winning the right to host the 2016 Ice Hockey World Championships by giving a whole speech in English in the Slovakian capital of Bratislava.

In 2013, the Russian President once again resorted to the modern lingua franca to personally appeal to the members of the International Exhibition Bureau as Russia competed to host Expo 2020.

...

Russia’s president also inadvertently surprised his English interpreter as he was speaking at the opening of Universiade in Kazan in July of 2013. Putin paid tribute to the Tatarstan Republic’s native culture by concluding his speech with the Tatar word “isänmesez” (“welcome”). Apparently, the interpreter simply repeated the word in his translation, as he didn’t know what it meant – so Putin stepped in and translated it to the delight of the locals.

Defense? plausible? Wat defense? I merely stated undeniable facts here, then you denied them.

Well, he did not, and neither did interpreter.

Well, I have never heard him speaking english, But reading english loud does not mean one understands what one reads, let alone understanding spoken language.

Holly crap, I am impressed and LOL. That looks weird and contrasts with how he usually speaks in russian. He was clearly coached beyond reasonable for this presentation. If his pronunciation and expression were accurate representation of his level then he surely would not have needed interpreters when speaking to western media. I need a proof that he actually understands english and can have a random conversation. But yeah, I am impressed.

Putin speaks German, and English is a Germanic language. So he should be able to speak English phonetically.

I've known singers that gave talks in German which they only knew from singing. They could speak a text perfectly, but in were not German speakers.

Videos are also easily faked or dubbed by technology. Technology can dupe a voice. Are you sure this is real?

Color me SO surprised that to a Russian troll, CNN "appears" to be Fake News.
Just one more thing that said trolls and Fuckface von Clownstick agree upon.

Among the facts in front of our eyes and ears, is the fact that Vladimir Putin speaks better English than El Cheato.

I know - that's not saying much...

The issue is the White House still has it wrong.

I was watching Colbert and he was talking about how Putin during press conference admitted that he meddled in US elections
The only thing I found is RT talking about it, so close your noses you dirty Russo-fobes :)

Anyway, to make story short, I can attest you that Putin only said "I wanted Trump to win"
CNN lady insisted that he admitted meddling.

That's because Trump edited the footage of the video and edited the transcript to remove part of the question in order to change the answer.

You can see the edited and unedited version of the video here:

Right, Trump edited the video and gave it to CNN/Colbert to make Putin and himself look stupid. Thanks, It makes so much sense now.

Anyway, back to serious discussion. WH corrected their transript and explained why the omitted Mason.

https://lawandcrime.com/legal-analy...n-federal-law-by-doctoring-trump-putin-video/

And again, stop with this whataboutism, I don't care what WH did. I only care about what CNN and Maddow did. So far they have not corrected themselves.

I wonder if the FBI has a place to report suspicious social media.
