Jerusalem Gay Pride: Six stabbed 'by ultra-Orthodox Jew'

So are you are telling us that you were derailing this thread with more of your homophobic nonsense, or are you suggesting that the people in Jerusalem deserved to be stabbed by a religious terrorist because a few homosexuals in some other parade in some other country twerked like heterosexuals do.

Can you please quote what I said which you consider was homophobic? Thank you.

I am not going to quote virtually every post you have written since you joined this board.

I believe it's called "twerking". Sometimes they show it on TV here in the US:

but that's got nothing to do with people walking in a parade in Jerusalem[/COLOR], unless you have evidence of Miley Cyrus-style behavior among the participants.....?

How many more bloody times - I was making an observation about homosexual parades in general!
But in general, your general comments don't seem to apply or make much sense with respect to this attack and this parade. It doesn't appear to have been a freak show on the street.

So by comparing it to what you imagine as the worst offenders, lumping their 'provocation' in with street twerking, you're bringing your own prejudice into the thread for no logical reason anyone can see.

Like the other thread. Someone said 'not all sex is procreative' and you whine that others are bringing homosexuality into the conversation.

You're really obsessed with where teh gays are sticking their wangers, Cerberus. Is it something you need to talk about?

One interesting thing to come out of all this is that the Israeli government has said that it can use the same rules they use on palestinians, specifically indefinite 'administrative detention' without a trial on israelis. While this is arguably fair, it does mean that Israel is essentially abandoning one of the fundamental pillars of democracy. It is easy to see how this measure, ostensibly taken against ultra right wing militants, might be used by the right wing israeli government against its critics on the left instead.

Gay pride (parades) started as a thing because of violent oppression of gays, and ensuing riots following those attacks. Gay pride is about a challenge against conservative thought in general. It is about spitting in the face of authorities and authoritarians who would try to put gays down merely because they are different.

It is and always will be not just about flaunting it, but about shoving a bold challenge directly in the face of anyone who would try to attack someone else for being, acting, or doing a thing that does not actually cause any actual harm. It is like 'draw Muhammad day, or a flag burning. It is a willful act of defiance. So yes. It is flaunting. And yes, it is provocative. It will continue to be here, in your face and making you 'feel icky', until you and everyone else who would shout it down shuts up and accepts that different isn't a reason to hate.

Whether or not this is an acceptable way of handling the situation of disgusting vile persons who call gays 'freaks' is another question. But many alternatives were tried. This is the one that seemed to turn the tide.

So the guy stabbed those people because gay parades in general?

I'm not catching your point here. A guy stabs a bunch of people because he is a religious extremist and you post pics of the more colorful events at gay parades in other parts of the country. What does any of that have to do with the criminal act of attempt of murder (and unfortunately now, murder)?

Wearing bright colors makes someone a freak?

Yes, very colourful isn't it?

images

Yes, I can see so many people being harmed in this picture. Somebody ought to do something about this, up to and including murder!

So because these two guys are dressed in bright colors (well, one of them is anyway), then they consider themselves to be freaks. Anyone who dresses in bright colors thinks of himself as a freak.

And anyone who thinks of himself as a freak shouldn't be surprised if someone tries to stab them. They only have themselves to blame, is that right?

Provocateurs must expect unwanted reactions. If they didn't flaunt it they wouldn't attract extremists.

Yes, that makes such sense. I can see how anyone wearing a lime-green t-shirt and denim shorts deserves to be stabbed in the back. Bravo for your keen analysis.

Well, they ARE running towards a rainbow umbrella. I'm sure if they reached that, they would have forced their assailant to witness sort of a sexual act, though without the exposure of genitals or secondary reproductive equipment. But that's close enough to freaky. Because rain bows symbolize buttsex. Even for gay women. Which makes them just as icky as anyone simulating another sex act with is legal, thus a provocation which can only be replied to with penetrative violence.

No man is an island. The stabber came from a group of people who are known for their anti-gay prejudice. This person certainly was rendering his own iinterpretation of common prejudices among ultra orthodox Jews. I am sure he had a lot of help and a lot of quasi religious hocum shoved into him at ultra orthodox synagogue. What he did is not logical behavior for anyone but a stuffed religion bigot trained to hate.

Have you no shame, sir? Have you no shame?

Why, thanks to people like you, it's gotten to be where a person can't hang out minding his own business in the middle of a gay pride parade without being subjected to gay people! What do you expect? There our poor bearded fellow stands, surrounded by gay people and their supporters. What was he supposed to do--just leave? Don't you know that if anybody is offended by you--what with your breathing, and your walking down the street, and your wearing of colors other than black--that it is your responsibility to bury yourself in a hole and not be seen, lest anyone might decide you look like a 'freak'???

Seriously, this guy needs to be put into a cell for the rest of his life. He clearly can't be trusted to exist in society. And he can thank his religion for that.

No, and I don't have any sanctimony either! But spare your misplaced concern for them - they actually regard themselves as freaks otherwise they wouldn't dress up and showboat themselves like they do.

You're right. Some people don't know the meaning of the word 'restraint':

Israel just arrested a rabbi who advocated for destroying christian churches throughout Israel. (and presumably the occupied territories) He accuses them of idol worship. I wish the american christians who support Israel would read israeli news sources.

Oh, come on. If you look good in a dress, you look good in a dress.
You should be able to wear your dress without drawing accusations of being a provocative freak. No more than any other man in a color-coordinated formal frock, anyway.

I have no objection to the color purple. But five crosses on your dress is plenty. Any more than that and you're just flaunting. And not in a good way, either.

I also don't quite understand the numerology. Sure 7 is a sacred number, but what do 7 crosses refer to? Usually there are 3. (I'm counting the four armed star as a cross, but again, its ambiguous, if it weren't a cross, that would leave 6 stars, and 6 is generally not considered a good number)

That large middle one is not a cross. It's a star that has one side lengthened to look vaguely like a cross; because the dude is rocking it like a rockstar, but a christian rockstar, y'know?

Also, do note the two crosses at the bottom, meaning there's actually 8 crosses on there.

I don't expect you to - I asked specifically for homophobic posts on this thread; it must be this thread because I've never joined any others on that this topic. So - off you go???

Yes, we can always count on homosexuals dragging out and dusting off the 'Are you struggling to stay in the closet?' mantra when they're put on the spot. B-o-r-i-n-g!!

Nobody 'hates' homosexuals, we just don't want their sexual propensities, subliminally or explicitly, rammed down our throats at every opportunity any more than we want heteros grandstanding.

If someone is trying to ram sexual propensities down your throat, the first thing you should do is shut your mouth. The second thing you should do is watch your back, because some of those folks aren't content to merely force you to swallow their sexual dictates, they'll stab you in the back if you refuse.

But if all they are doing is informing you that they have sexual propensities that differ from yours, and they aren't hurting anyone, what's the problem?

I strongly suspect that it would serve your interest in not having things "rammed down your throat" to not always have your mouth open. Me thinks you protest too much.
