This is not true. Most pedophiles prefer a gender and an age range.

It is tremendously different for a teenager to molest girls he has access to and for an adult to seek out child porn. I have no doubt that Josh Duggar is a very sick person. I also have no doubt that his parents ts did him no favors in sending him to whatever counseling it was the he supposedly got when his actions towards his sisters and other girls was discovered. I’m assuming that it was faith based, meaning it was almost certainly useless.

I honestly do not know if teenagers who sneak feels of their siblings/siblings’ friends, cousins, etc. are beyond healing, if they ever mature out of this behavior or what can or should be done. It seems obvious that only rigorously credentialed and monitored abs licensed by the state therapy programs should be used in attempting to help these kids.

I expect that the pornography he was caught with has something in common with the people he violated first as a teenager.

There are just some things about "first sexual experiences" that stick with us as humans. Josh made his first sexual experience of "violating a child".

Josh should not be left alone with any child, certainly, but also extra care must be made when those children bare superficial resemblance in some manner to the victims.

It's more a power dynamic. Most such pick a gender based more on factors of access and then after that, imprinting and continuation of habit and pattern.
