Legal definition of woman is based on biological sex, UK supreme court rules

No, it's a non sequitur.
Yeah, I kinda thought so when @Toni said it, but she did any way.
Then defended it, when she got called out on the complete non sequitur.
Tom
Toni said men should be allowed into women only spaces? When did that happen? She's been consistently arguing in favor of keeping men out of those places from the beginning of this thread.

And she said it's because of other cultures?

I think you might have her mixed up with someone else.

It's because she brought up other primitive cultures as though they were relevant. It was a complete non sequitur.

Right. There is absolutely nothing to ever be learned from other cultures.

"Primitive cultures".

The kind that recognize more than the two Christian Church approved genders?

So what?

What has that to do with the question of whether sex is an important characteristic in some circumstances?
It is possible that by studying other cultures, we might learn and grow and improve how we handle things.
Yes, let’s study backward Islamic cultures to see where we are going wrong with the treatment of women.

That link to the Talmud recognizing seven genders takes you to the My Jewish Learning page, but yeah, let's pretend there are only two cultures in the world - Western Christian and Islamic.

And yet more irrelevant non sequiturs.

Right. There is absolutely nothing to ever be learned from other cultures.

"Primitive cultures".

The kind that recognize more than the two Christian Church approved genders?
I said nothing like either of those things.
But, no, I don't think that primitive cultures without running water can tell the women I know who is okay in a department store restroom with them.

Who’s pretending anything, there’s a shit load of backward cultures to choose from. And really, a book of superstitious nonsense written by goat herders is your go to?

Well if it wasn't you doing that ventriloquism trick with a straw man, someone is spoofing your account.

Yet another irrelevant non sequitur strawman.
Nobody said anything like that. But it's obvious to me why you responded with that. Because the reality doesn't suit your ideology.
Tom

What The Fuck?
I quoted you both.
Tom

You quoted us both responding to seanie's non sequitur as though Toni was the one posting fallacies and had said we should allow men into women only spaces.

Either you got confused over who has been arguing what, or you were being disingenuous.

I never used the word primitive. I used the words societies and cultures.

Well, no you did not, I never used or thought the word primitive.

I pointed out that Jesus was a Jew. It did not occur to me that you considered Judaism to be primitive.

That’s your own bias leaking into your reading.

lol—that’s your own reflection you’re staring at, Tom.

In the Talmud, seven genders are recognized:

So, basically, the scholars who wrote the Talmud recognized five additional ways besides "standard-issue woman" that you could be a lesser being than a regular person. Wisdom for the ages.

Well, no you did not, I never used or thought the word primitive.

I pointed out that Jesus was a Jew. It did not occur to me that you considered Judaism to be primitive.
