The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans

U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

The world found out shortly before 2 p.m. eastern time on March 15 that the United States was bombing Houthi targets across Yemen.
I, however, knew two hours before the first bombs exploded that the attack might be coming. The reason I knew this is that Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense, had texted me the war plan at 11:44 a.m. The plan included precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing.

Yeah, Trumpies. This is the Asshole who said over and over that Hillary deserved prison for having sensitive government documents on a private server. (Never mind what was next to the Cottonelle and Tidy Bowl in his bathroom in Florida.) Now his people have a text chain about for-real WAR PLANS, and it's sent to the media??
Um...any "Lock 'Em Up" chants from MAGA World? Or just crickets?

This won't faze his brainwashed followers a bit. They'll immediately claim it wasn't all that important or fake liberal media lies.
 
Can you imagine if this was the Biden administration accidentally including a Fox News reporter in a group text about war plans? Even if this somehow leaked without a blunder like that, it would be "Dementia Joe's administration sinks national security," and they'd never let it go. Any other administration doing this? There would be a Congressional investigation at the least, and high level officials would be fired immediately.
 
Double standards are not a new trick from Conservatives - no one in the media seems to notice Trump's mental decline
 
What is to investigate? Sec of Def or someone working for him leaked highly sensitive military intel that vould have been used to harm US military assets.

This calls for a serious amount of Whadabout!

No it won’t. They fully embrace the destructive incompetence in all positions. Just look at their embrace of RFK Jr and “Food Babe”. This is a feature and not a bug.
 
I'm sure the coverage on Fox and One America will be priceless. But I don't have the stomach for it. I'll let Kimmel's staff excerpt it.

(And seriously, it's time to get Trump to give 5 bullet points of what he accomplished last week. Let's see...divulged the social security numbers of hundreds of people...had his security picks create the fiasco where U.S. war plans were put out in plain sight...further enraged the Canadians by continuing to claim they were meant to be one of our states...renewed threats of massive tariffs...had his lawyers defend summary judgment on deportations...clearly, Dark Ages America is here, and we have our own mad king.)

The Bulwark already has a video up with live updates on what Fox News has as "breaking," as well as a run-down of Hegseth railing about Hillary potentially leaking classified info.

This means Russia and China could very well have been doing the same.

They are making plans in ways specifically to avoid oversight.

It’s not like the journalist leaked it to the enemy, so no harm no foul, amirite?

Unfortunately, not in recent memory.

I really am against capitol punishment but I’ve come to realize that I will make exceptions for treason.
 
In their defense, I believe they were hacked--that is, a hacker sent an invite to the journalist as a current invitee, either by faking or by gaining access to their account. Of course that isn't much of a defense because they never should have been using Signal anyway to discuss classified matters. I agree it is necessary to get to the bottom of how this was done and who did it because it is a huge national security problem. It's also a huge problem for all these fucktards on Signal. If they were low-level employees and did this, they'd not only be fired immediately, but they'd also have criminal charges.
